My parents' first dishwasher was the 1970 super stripped down Ward's/Signature version of this in white. No chrome (real or fake) anywhere. The unicoupler had no handle. It just laid in the recess. IIRC none of the top rack lifted out with the lid. There were instead two racks along the side at the top with a large gap in the middle for access to the lower rack. One cycle. No rinse/hold option. A more plain Jane bare bones dishwasher has likely never been produced. |
