Hello Everyone

Just seen this on Youtube.

It's quite a long video but it talks about some upcoming Washing Machines and Tumble Dryers featuring Steam, and also some potentially Black models too!

They look pretty cool, tried to pause it to look at the new programs... I could make out a few :)

Thanks for the videos but... that video host. Patrice used to work for MTV Germany for a long time - he's as *into* in appliances as Eminem or 50Cent. *lol*

I love that black touch screen washer dryer at the very end of the video, however I somehow doubt they will launch it, as it will be too expensive. I don't even think Mieles Supertronic is selling that well. No shops seem to sell it anymore. I don't think a Touch screen panasonic would sell if Miele can't even get sales, but there again, Panasonic is getting popular, and will probably run some advertising and give some 10 year promotions on it. If only they had a white, washing machine version (No dryer function)!
The steam is nothing new, and will basically work like Miele steam care I think.
What a strange response the man gave to a question about glass doors, its pretty obvious he didn't really know, and made it up. OK glass may allow heat to escape, but only by a smallest of fraction. Really its to keep costs down.

Miele said, in response to the why-no-glass-door-on-your-dryers question that the filter in the door provides better filtration and more air flow.

Great video! It would have gone a lot smoother if Patrice wasn't in it. The Panasonic rep was very knowledgeable and easy to look at.

Logixx you are correct, but glass door dryers can have just as much airflow as a one with a filter in it. A great example is my Hotpoint (Now it is vented I admit that), it dries a full 7.5Kg load of towels, spun at 1200rpm in just 60 minutes, now that is fast, and its thanks to a high air flow, and higher speed tumbles allow the clothes to catch the air as they fall almost from the top (A Great example is my latest video, it really shows these towels nearly distributing). Yet that has a glass door?

Don't get me wrong, I do like the Panansonic models, and they are well built.
