Testing a 70's Maytag A606 Motor

I have a Maytag A606 Serial# 624694US (Aug.'74). that stopped all Drive motor functions. Motor turns freely. I believe it could be Timer, Motor Switch or Motor. I need to know how to jump the motor for a diagnostic test.
With the tub full of water, i disconnected the 6 wires from the Timer. Activated the Timer (Timer motor works)and only got full voltage from the Yellow wire and some residual voltage on the other 5 leads. If the yellow is my Hot, what is the neutral and more importantly, which motor switch terminal is neutral?
The motor switch has a colored dot pattern from top to bottom: Leftside: black,red. Rightside: white, orange, brown, yellow.

Is the wiring diagram missing from the front of your tub? It's usually pasted there, but they do go missing from time to time.

By far the easiest way to check this is by using a test cord.
Here's the wiring diagram for how to test ANY two-speed reversible Maytag washer motor.
You can make the test cord yourself for about $10 in supplies from the hardware store.

Thanks KM71! That diagram is comprehensive and revealing. I did NOT know the speed select went through the CENT SW and it always starts on REG.

Note that the OVLD PROT is bypassed for the START winding in this cord. If the motor hums but fails to start using the cord, discontinue the test in about 5 seconds for the safety of the START winding and investigate further.

Unplugged from power there should be continuity from RD to BN, from Y to W, and from W to BK.

Thank you Kenmore71. That was really helpful.
As a result, motor and motor switch operate fine (although i don't know what the 2 speeds FL Amps should be).
The Timer has a badly burned contact. The(Mallory)Timer is a 2-4476-1.(204476) The dash 1 seems to be a rare bird. Is there another 204476-? that will work?

motor testing

I have a problem with a model LA 712 (circa 1985). I replaced the tub seal and must have gotten some things too tight. I discovered that the agitation would not work but that the spin would (but it seemed 'tight') I took everything apart and have tried to figure out what is wrong with the motor. With both belts disconnected from the motor it will run on spin but not on the agitation cycles. I just get a humming sound on an agitation cycle. I made a test wire and hooked it up to the appropriate leads (blacks on YL and BR, whites on RD and BK - this runs the spin setting, and then switching over to a white on BR and a black on RD - this runs the agitation setting). the problem is when I reconnect the wires from the controls to the motor. The spin works but the agitator doesn't. Same humming sound.

Does this mean that I have something bad in the control unit?
