Hey guys, Cory here- Ben gave me a call today and found a treat at L*wes..a harvest 1-18 with window-in-lid! Beautiful shape too! So we hitched up the trailer this eve while the flurries were flying and made the trek- no idea on functionality at this point but the cabinet and controls look premo-

We're still both novices when it comes to these machines so anticipate some lively Q's ; )

WOOHOO!!! Congratulations on the new acquisition...too bad they don't have free appliances for the taking behind any Lowe's around here! Is this one a model WC-6? Looks like it's in good shape; keep us posted on the working order! Hopefully the Sure-Spin clutch linings (and brake lining) are still good!

Model WC-6

Hey Austin - thanks for the kinds words. She sure is a WC-6. About what time frame what this one available on the market? It is currently in a bit of a frozen state - either lingering water or melted snow in the tub froze while the temps dropped from 34 to 21 today. Hopefully, it all will be okay when we thaw it out in the basement. It needs a new drain hose - so it will be a trip back to L*we's to pay our dues!

Anyone got a spare Jet Cone for these guys? This one may be cracked a bit.

Ben

cory & Ben, congrats. Lokks so much like Austin's (except for the separate wash & rinse temp knobs) that I just did a Bob-load of towels in.

Congrat's Ben & Cory! Wow, another 1-18. Love those machines. Austin's is very cool.. Got to see it in person a week coming on Saturday. The window lid is awesome. Sure you will find a pulsator, but let me know as I have one that is cracked too from the machine I have. It does have a few dings in it, but may be b etter than the one in your machine. I will be happy to send it to you since I was blessed here by a donor for a new one.

Steve

Nice find! First number in the serial number should give you the year.7 is 1977,5 is 1975,etc.

I'm glad so many of you are finding 1-18's! I had one for about a year, but had to get rid of it when I moved. Mine was Harvest Gold, as well. I lucked out and found one in perfect working order behind the appliance store across the street from the warehouse apt. I used to live in. They can really handle a big, big load of clothes.

Although the 50's-60's Frigidaires are now my favorites, I remember being very impressed when the 70's models arrived with their greatly expanded capacity and perforated tubs. I don't recall why, but I didn't care for solid tubs when I was younger. I certainly feel very differently about that, now.

ANYWAY, congrats and I'm glad Santa put a 1-18 in your stocking this year.
