I second that!
This is a 1972 Kenmore 700 dryer. There seems to be a lot of '72 dryers still out there which show up on C/L. I have always REALLY liked those big chromed knobs. This was about the time that I was becoming aware of individual machines on the floor of the catalog sales center in Rochester, MI where we lived, and I remember them well. There is something about those knobs. They were available, to name a few - in all white (BOL 72s), white skirt / chrome knob (1970-1972 MOL), all black (BOL 1976 washer), and black skirt / chrome knob (near BOL 1970), and all Chrome (many 1970 - 1972 models). I think the various consoles in 1972 were Sears' last major styling effort at this before they became more homogenized in 1974 and then to the mix/match wet-look of 1976-1986. |
