Hi All,

I have been on vacuum land for a few years now as 'godfreys_guy' and I do regularly view the posts here but now I need some assistance :)

I have bought a matching Asko Washer and Dryer stack, the washer is in immaculate condition and I just did my first 2 loads in it. The dryer however which was 'free' with the washing machine turns on, the screen lights up with a grid and won't actually commence a program. I have checked the manuals for a child lock, there is none and I can't get it to start. The units screen turns off when the door is open and the drum light comes on, but alas no start.

I think it may be a control board issue but if anyone has any suggestions... :)

Cheers for Oz

It looks like the child lock is on, do you have the manual for it?, usually is a combination of 2 buttons for 3+ seconds to clear...

Also have you checked if it has a heater reset button on the back of the dryer, (usually a red button - press it in to re-set) check all the filters especially if its a condenser, clean out the water tray and try again.

Failing that I`m sure our other members from Aus will be able to identify your model and offer more help.

Good luck they are great machines!!

The key

Hi there,
I have the Maytag badged version of this machine, and according to the instructions you should....

Turn the main power OFF and ON again
Press the ENTER button 5 times then press the P3 button 5 times( this should be done within 15 seconds)
Within 3 seconds after the last press on P3 use the to choose child lock on (the figure 3 will appear)
or Off (the figure 0 will appear at the bottom right of the display)

I have no idea why they made it so complicated, but give it a try.
Good luck
Alex

Thanks...

Slimstar, your instructions were better than asko's haha, but alas still no go. I think the board must be fried because the screen flashes. It is a T781 model.
