Im really looking forward to trying the steam cycles out :-)
Anyone have any idea weather it might cut down ironing?
Tom :-)

The Aqualtis looks very nice

Wonder if the Gorenje dryer has a glass door?

Post# 636708 , Reply# 19   11/5/2012 at 09:55 (4,182 days old) by aegokocarat (United Kingdom)

Cheers! :)
the gorenje has a solid door unfortunantly, but the good thing is that the filter in the door seems to stop fluff escaping. I had problems with fluff escaping on the zanussi dryer, it was a right pain!
Tom :)

Honestly cannot faulty my Gorenje tumble dryer (or the Gorenje washer for that matter)

Shame people dont really talk about the brand that much

Exactly, the place I got the gorenje from were hopeless, if John Lewis sold them then I would have gone there. It dries well without leaving a damp smell so Im super happy! :)

Anyone have any tips for using the steam function?
And also, does it help reduce creases or is that just a gimmick?
Tom

Tom - just out of curiosity, does your Samsung have the instant door lock solenoid or the more traditional bimetal interlock?

Nice little washhouse by the way, keep up the good work.

Jon

Hi Jon :-)
If im honest its mixed, when the machine finishes the de-plaster tumbles, there is usually about one minute left on the display, about half a second later it clicks and plays a little jingle, then once the door is opend or if its left for 10 mins it turns off to save energy.
Tom :-)

So it has the electromagnetic lock like Hotpoints LGs Electrolux etc?

Jon

I think so, but it makes almost silent click noise unlike the loud clunk noise on hotpoints door locks

Upon observing the machine this evening, the door unlock time is determind by the cycle time, if the wash is two hours it will stay locked for one whole minute, if its a one hour wash or if its a 56 daily wash then it will unlock 30secs into the one minute it displays. Confusing i know lol

@aegokocarat

hey tom, i own 12kg samsung, i don't know if your model does this, but when i select the intensive button, i get high water levels on the cotton rinses, and on the bedding cycle, the water level, is very high, it does a long distribution with high water level. im so glad you have samsung, do you find your drum to be very deep than usual.

Sloppy wiring is sloppy wiring.

"My Dream Laundry Room is where everyone loses their life over electrical and plumbing safety code violations."

Okay. Maybe Jeremy Clarkson needs a tire-changer or a makeup artist.

One of the Euro toploaders...

...is a Bauknecht? How are you satisfied with it?

Post# 637525 , Reply# 31   11/8/2012 at 10:35 (4,179 days old) by aegokocarat (United Kingdom)

@Dave886
If im honest i find the drum slighly narrow? (could just be because i was using the aqualtis for a while) i havent come across it doing that, bit on saying that i havent really used any features as such..

@chris74
its a whirlpool/bauknecht and i found it to be excelent! just as good as my samsung and mums miele, however, the drum was very narrow and small (5kg) so i found getting all of the washing into it to be a pain.

:) Tom :)
