What the hell was that all about? Where was the sweater? It reminded me of a "Mission Accomplished" production with lots of fanfare and no results.

Jet Action Washing

Great intro but I was waiting to see some dirt, LOL

This past weekend we were up at the secret appliance collection in W Va. [ secret from Jon C because he will never visit even though I have gone to his vacation house 30+ times now ] and I was running my 1968 Frigidaire Rapidry washer, to me this is still my favorite Frigidaire washer design. Not only is it effective but I love the unique rollermatic mechanism, there was just nothing else like it ever.

wow

Cool as hell, but I kept waiting for an out-of-balance spin! (sweater of doom?)

Will there be a feature?

Jon those are very fun to put together, aren't they?   Very cool.  Wink

But I would have to say it's mis-titled.  Yes there's plenty of action, but where is the sweater and where is the pending peril or doom?

Walking briskly away ................ Tongue out

were the real deal, Cecil B. Great wakep-up call. After seeing this, no one's going to need his crack pipe today. {#emotions_dlg.Washer-4}Ya know Jon, I really envy the way you can actually fix any brand or any model washer; it's such a gift. Frigidaire (Uni, Multi, Roller), Easy, Bendix--bring it on!

Call for Dr. Norge, someone is knocking on one today! Once again you, are the visual Wizard of the laundry "porn "we come here to oggole over daily. Entertaining us with full streaming sound videos. From viewing thru the glass window door, looking into a water filled tub with pulsating, sploshing, spiral splashing, spinning, the pumping, the grinding, winding, gurgling & whirling. Kevin how will you top this, waiting to view it!

These videos reminded me of a favorite and memorable sales tool from General Motors Frigidaire "JET Action" washer. Their sales floor tool let the customer view & operate their simple mechanism on a artfully displayed prop. A hand crank operated the mechanical cutaway, with multicolored real parts, you could make the unit pulse, or spin. WOW it was very cool to operate. The 1964 Jet Action washer demonstrates with this tool..."NO BELTS, NO GEARS, NO PULLEYS", for years of trouble free service. Does anyone remember this, or better yet, who owns one!

Thanks for continued entertainment, education and showing off what you have to play with, FUN. Just like a mini-wash-n right here in my bedroom!

The Frigidaire display!

gansky1's profile picture
There was on of these Frigidaire displays at a store we visited in Illinois, I think it was. I believe it ended up on eBay, but not sure who ended up with it. It was fun to play with.

Speed Queen had one for their simple transmission mechanism, Maytag had several for their washers and Whirlpool-Kenmore had the clear-front machine that agitated poker chips. I think one of our members has the Whirlpool version.

When we were shopping at our local appliance dealer once (for a TV, I think) I remember they had a 1-18 filled with water to the low-level and agitating on gentle speed with a couple of articles in it, I stared at it for the longest time until they shooed me away. I thought it was the coolest thing ever!

shoo away washer boys! Just like when Robert and I got shooed away at NFM for overriding machine protocols on the button panel and whipping the Whirlpool into high spin! -The store clark shooed us away due to running the machine dry and wearing out all those bearings!!
