Picked these up in Detroit a few week ago. They need work for sure, but that is half the fun of it.

Washer Model #1106604920
Dryer Model #1106607931

CONGRATS on your 900 set Oren, VERY NICE!

Have you had a chance to test them yet?   What do they need?

Kevin

Kevin,

Have tested them. The washer is going to need bearings for sure, but does not leak. Also going to need a really good cleaning and some touch up paint.

The dryer is gas. Not sure what is wrong with it. It heats up but the motor does nothing. If the door is shut and before you hit start, the buzzer stays on. Have not had the time yet to do any research on it.

But they are my dream set and am happy with what I got. Looking forward to labor of love with them.

These look like a set of 900's I rescued and sent to Gordon. I've shot videos of the washer. That washer I rescued had the Roto Flex agi and needed the same repairs as yours.

The dryer sounds like the start switch on the motor is having issues. Worst case, you replace the motor.

Congrats!
RCD

Here's the washer with another when I videoed the agitation comparison video...

Lovely, Please post all the work you're going to do; love that huge-honkin' electronic sensor. Now THAT one in an electric display might be worth some money on eBay.

I like the controls on the dryer as well.

Nice find, it's encouraging and gratifying for all of us when a dream set is found.
I have the 67 lady Kenmore version of that dryer and it's one of my favorites, very accurate and so pretty.

Congratulations on finding your dream set. I have the 1966 Lady Kenmore models that look almost identical to those in turquoise.

You will have fun with these and I think there is repair literature for these on the Automatic Ephemera portion of this site.

Good luck and enjoy!

Patrick

Wow, was that dryer ever even used? Doesn't look like it!

The paint on the drum of my '81 Kenmore dryer was pretty much gone by 1990. There's a few spots still left on the bulkhead.

What was the logic with that cheap ass paper thin paint, anyway?

Those turquoise Lady K's are washer porn, LOL!
