Never saw a Hotpoint Wringer before.

This looks real minty.

What a beauty. I work in Newtown! A bit to $$$ and I just bought a Maytag A50. No room!!! Darn!!! As it is, I have 3 other machines in storage.

It's raining 40's wringers

1941 and still in its wringer papers. WOW.

The agitator is the same one in the early GE's --mixes it up like crazy--it's those long fins extending beyond the plate.

AND, another automatic shut-off......from the FORTIES!!!

Thanks for the treat, Eddie!

Wish I lived closer AND had the room for her!

If I'm not mistaken, Hotpoint was a division of G.E., right?

Hotpoint merged with a division of GE in 1918, but later in 1932 the latter purchased factories and the entire company becoming the Edison General Electric Company.

IIRC GE wanted to get it's mitts on Hotpoint's calrod heating element technology and patents. The founder of HP invented the first electric iron that heated around the tip and upper portion of the iron (hence the name "HotPoint") after a suggestion from his wife about what housewives wanted in an electric iron.

...and even though this wringer was manufactured in the 50's, this machine is pure GE. All the visible parts of this machine are the same as those on GE wringers of the same time.
