Spotted this listing last night for what appeared to be a minty Avacado Green Maytag A806 washer for $40!

I called the guy up first thing today, didn't ask any questions because it was relatively close by and I was in a hurry to grab it before anyone was the wiser. I headed out thinking what a score this would be, so easy and a great price!

When I get there this tattooed biker fellow leads me down to the basement and proudly shows me a beat up White A207?!?... I say "Is this the same washer you have listed on Craiglist? "Oh yes, they say, same one", I say, "Hmm, it certainly looked Avacado Green in the photo and in far better condition", "Nope, this is it, they say".

At this point I'm thinking my eyesight must be really be going, I have to study those Craigslist photos more carefully next time. Needless to say I passed, after speculating out loud on how it was possible a white A207 could look like a green A806 when photographed?

The ad has been deleted by the seller.  He doesn't sound like the kind of person who would self-flag, so maybe somebody took the bait (and switch).

This happens a lot....between using someone elses photo, or a stock photo, whats worse is no pic, and yet they claim its in perfect out of the box condition, until you see it in person, ends up being a rust bucket ready for the dump....

I like the ones lately for "scrap value".....they ask for at least 25.00......I got news for you, scrap value around here is .11 cents per pound.....not worth your gas and effort for everything you have to go thru to get this ONE piece...

Wish you guys could have seen it. They obviously took best internet photo they could find of a vintage Maytag washer, used it as their own, as though no one would notice and then played dumb about it!

I guess that should have been the tip off, if it seems too good to be true... On the otherhand, its not uncommon to see minty Maytag washers for cheap on Craiglist every now and then.

I ran across a CraigsList ad recently that had horked a pic of my IWL12 in my laundry room.  Dryer pic in the ad appears to be in the same room per the wall color behind but it's not, I don't have that model.
