Yes. I saw them at an exchange/export store in Texas a few years ago.

That's a complex issue, I think.

Whirlpool moved a bunch of their washer production to Mexico 6 or 7 years ago.

Then Electrolux and LG (or maybe it was Samsung, or both) did the same thing.

In the meantime, Whirlpool has re-located its washing machine production that is destined for the U.S. domestic market back into the U.S. But it's assembly, and not really production.

"Proudly Assembled in the USA!" There is an FTC definition of "made" and "assembled" in the USA. And you can bet that Whirlpool is skirting the definition.

Whirlpool petitioned whatever governmental entity handles fair trade stuff and has gotten a ruling against LG, Samsung and Electrolux for selling washers at a disadvantage to them because they are making them outside the U.S.

Yeah, that sounds great, until you see that Whirlpool has transferred most of their refrigerator manufacturing to Mexico. Which was previously mostly made in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Amana, Iowa before Whirlpool decided they could make more bucks by shipping refrigerator-making to Mexico

I guess when LG or Samsung sets up refrigerator manufacturing in Mexico, we'll go through the same thing again...

Mexican Made

I'm very sorry for ur comments, but let me tell u something, the mexican hand is one of the best working and cheapest hands all over the world, unfortunately the quality used for appliances parts is so poor and no lasting stuff, giving lemons as a result, its a shame that EASY brand stopped producing the most dependable model of washers around the country because they where so good that had just a few or no repairs at all, within 15 to 20 years, and the parts where not sold, putting EASY brand out of the business, and now they made the cheapest and biggest lemons around the world, which lasts about 6 moths too 2 years I'm talking about the new ID generations GE like Easy washers.

Easy Mexican hand made washer

Easy Mexican hand made washer, we are talking about of a 40 year old washer that just needed one repair which was three years ago, and served a family of 5 for 38 years, and it's still working, it does between 10 to 15 loads per week having an excellent performance load over load

Ultramatic- this is such a cool washer! Jon and I were oggling over this video quite a while back. Love that Spiralator action with the Franklin-Kenmore-GE feel. If I'm ever on a driving vacation in Mexico, I want one of these as my souvenir.

Mexican Souvenir

Gansky I really hope you have good luck in finding one. People which own them donīt want to get rid of them unless they donīt work since itīs really difficult to find parts of it. The one I show here is not mine, itīs one of my best friendīs grandparents. I had it here to fix because no technician wanted to fix it, and the only thing was a blown motor, so I got it fixed and took pictures and videos of it in the meanwhile.

I bought 1 some months ago, which I searched for years, the only difference is the color and the small knobs which are more rounded than this ones which are more squared. This one is brown. Iīll post some pictures of it during the week.

There is nothing wrong with Mexican workmanship. If they are given Chinese components to assemble by US corporations, it's not Mexico's fault the products fail. It is the US which has corrupted its own manufacturing culture.

Ultramatic since you changed out a motor do they work like the old Beam machines with the fluid drive coupling between the motor and basket??

Jetcone

The motor wasnīt changed, is was just fixed. People here in downtown fix motors by changing all the wires and bearings inside. So I just put the same motor back with new bearings and wires, and changed the capacitor. These models use a coupling Whirlpool-like from the motor gear to the transmission gear. It has worked flawlessly since then!!!
