I am talking about the machines with the Fisher-Paycal Motors. As I mentioned in an earlier thread WP did introduce a kit and special tool to do this without the expense and waste of replacing the complete outer tub.

The bearing kit is PT # W10435302 and sells for about $90 and costs the dealer about $55

The installation tool Pt# is W10447783 and I forgot what we paid, around $50 or so.

I did this job in a customers home yesterday and it worked very well, the only real problem [ as often is the case ] is pulling the wash basket off the rusted main shaft, I finally just took the nut off below the bottom bearing and pulled the shaft and basket out together and when the wash basket was laying on its side it was easy to grab the shaft with a Channel-Lock players and turn it as I pulled it out.

If you are a little clever and good with tools you could install these parts without the bearing tool kit, but it does make it much easier and a little faster, so for those of us that are going to be doing more that one of these replacements Get The Installer.

I estimate that we will be charging our customers about $300 for this job complete when done in the home, it sure is a lot easier than doing a Front Loading Washers Bearings.

Interesting. The correct tools always make the job easier for sure. Have you been seeing a lot of bearing failures in these washers? The 2009 I had for a couple of months had good bearings, but I've seen a couple on CL that stated they had bad bearings or needed a "new tub" so I figured that meant the same problem.

I was relatively impressed with the operation of these washers, the rinsing was disappointing but probably adequate. Most owners of these machines don't have a unimatic Frigidaire to test the rinsing ability of their washers so ignorance is bliss LOL!

I have done one in my shop. I discarded an Oasis last year because of bad bearings.
I don't think the bearing kit was out then. Not too bad of a job...alot of tilting back of the machine, then upright again. I also replaced the suspension springs (sold as a set) since the tub would bounced up and down, then signal a UB condition.

I can't see selling these as used, if you have to put that much time/work into them.

They will become plentiful as time goes on though, just like DD washers are/were now.

The machines I an referring to were built with either wash plates or full Dual Action agitators with rubber fins. The bearings are the same on either design.
