This weekend, I decided to fix the rattling fan on my Frigidaire WIC-57. The rattle has been present for a few weeks but I didn't have time to fix it earlier.

Thanks to members who already posted about it, I looked at their pics and figured it wouldn't be a too tough job.  It was even easier than I expected as the screw that holds the pump impeller went out easily and didn't need to be heated.

I used some Locktite on it and reassembled everything without bad surprises. And now, it's noise-free!

the tines of the impeller look to be in great shape. Now you'll enjoy rattle free washing again!

All hail Doctrine!

No more rattling sound. Now, I'd need to find the correct agitator for it. That seems to be much harder!

Jon, I recently noticed that the back of the cover where the operating instructions are printed of your charcoal washer is gray and I think I have seen another white machine with this parted also painted grey (I think you have a white one too?). Mine is white. Can you tell me if it's because it's a Canadian machine or if it's because it has a blue tub (later model?).

What luck you had!  I'm glad for you because I've never heard of one of those screws that came out easily!
