Brings back fond memories of when the starter motor on my parents old Dodge van crapped out. My Neptune laughs at your Duo...

Yes,the durability of the motors start winding, start cap and switch were certainly tested in this test-too bad-you let the smoke out of it--may not work anymore.Schenectady-besides birthplace of the first commercially available lawn tractor,GE High pressure Sodium bulb-also the birthplace of our 6(3 still in use)250Kw GE Shortwave transmitters-they were built at the GE plant there!-built in the early 60's.

That machine was supposed to do that only three or four times, then pause, go into tumble then spin. I don't think it repeated the hesitation sequence after the pause, but 1971 was a long time ago so I'm not sure.

That pesky coating can be so difficult to remove from the motor coils, you're lucky to have a machine that does it ALL automatically!

Demand a return and use your store credit for a Samsung. I hear lots of people like those..

Ouch! Even I wasn't going to go THAT far... LOL! Why hasn't John chimed in yet? "Why, when I was younger, I was always working on these Duos under factory warranty. None of them lasted any time at all compared to the rocks at the river we were selling at the time lol!" ;^)
