Hey Chuck and Rich is the holiday party still on for Jan 5th? I don't see the thread anymore and was wondering if it was still on? I couldn't respond earlier not knowing commitments and such but I have that weekend free. Hopefully its still a go and you have a swap table set up. Would be great to see all the guys again.
Jon

Oh yeah, it's still on! The thread probably dropped down off the listing.

As far as I know, there will be an adoption table again and a Yankee Swap for those who wish to participate!

Chuck

Scott and Ed..... Frown

Bobby-

Saturday 1/5

2pm - ?

potluck finger food

Yankee Swap (I think?)

Adoption table (I think?)

Looks like about 6-7 of us for breakfast the next morning

We'll have mulled cider, coffee (duh!), etc.  Haven't heard what people are bringing yet (I was hoping for Scott's x-hot wings again Frown  ), but I've made biscotti and will make sponge candy and surely something else.

Make 'em in a loaf...

...then cut 'em and re-bake so they're nice and crunchy and ready for dunking! These are the almond ones.

And, of course, a batch of anise. I usually do chocolate chip and vanilla, but stuck with the two more traditional ones this time.

Hi Rich & Chuck,

Biscotti looks amazing.
I seem to have some flu-like symptoms these last few days.
Trying to ward it off so I may have to pass on saturday. Hate to pass it around to others. If I feel better by tomorrow, I'll let you know.

Happy New Year to you both.

John

Well, it's official; the holidays are over for us since the last guest from the last party just left a couple of minutes ago.

Thanks to the folks who were able to make it- good food, good fun, singing, laughing (and laughing, and laughing!!!)..... And a special hello to those who couldn't make it 'cause they're hit with one of the many bugs that are making the rounds (achoo...). Hope you're feeling better!

Left it in the pants I was wearing last weekend, and it ended up in the pile of laundry. Thank goodness I didn't wash it!!

I didn't take as many pix as usual, but here they are. First is Jason, Brian and Matt.

The lights on this tree in the dining room are i believe hand blown with the carbon filiment with the pointed tips on the tops. the base is very old with vertical slats to place the tree into. very interesting very old.

Study off of the music room. Interesting base on the tree. very old. you crank up the handle for the tree to rotate, but it has electricity running through it for the lights. the crank also provides a music box while the tree turns.

The "real tree" in the sunroom off of the music room. All the lights are the large round ice lights. very beautiful.

So Much Fun

It was another great get together at Chuck and Richs house and I wanted to thank them for having me.This was a BYOR party(Bring your own racks) so I brought the best set of kitchenaid kds 18 racks I had from my private vault and they seemed quite pleased with as they are pristine. No more rust on those dishes! It was great fun watching I Love Lucy on their 1950s magnavox predicta television which I have never seen and my favorite episode no less.I finally got to meet Bobby Deregis the only club member I know of to have a dexter-Bendix and I interrogated him at length about that.Turns out the one he has is the same one I used to use at an Everett laundromat in the 90s!There was some great food especially these pork squares that were 2 die for I had so many I felt the need to stop at a church on the way home to contemplate the sin of gluttony.Great party!

And still quite pleased, Mark. Thank you so much again! And, as it turned out, the racks we got at the transfer station last month went home with BrianL as it was better than the one he had! Upgrades all around!

And I'll see about getting that Predicta video up later today as well.

Looking forward to the summer gathering!

Chuck and Rich
