Just doing some house cleaning and thought I'd offer up this early Maytag 806. This is one of my daily drivers and works great, sans squeaking during spin from worn out pads. Has the Mallory timer, tub light, and the other Maytag goodies.

If you listen very quietly, you can hear the sound of email burning Ethernet... LOL!

That is a very nice 806. Congrats.

....Is that Cory lives only a few miles from me. It's not every day you get a chance at a dream machine that close by.

Okay, Sandy...

What you thinking, up there in the snow? Cabinet transplantation, or replace the "dread" almond washer entirely? *runs away, chuckling*

Heard back from Cory this morning, so I'm kvelling - I'm halfway to a dream set.

Now, to find the matching HOH dryer....

Leads appreciated.

Sandy, you looking for Electric or gas? I have the 1972-ish electric DE806 HOH that Ben had. I replaced the electronic control and re-did the drum seal. Works like a charm. It's currently taking up space in my basement. I'm into it for about $75 in parts right now. Mark.

Mark:

I'm IN. This is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.

Not only do I need electric, I know that dryer from when Ben had it, if it's the white one I'm thinking about.

Let's tawk. email addy is danemod@netzero.net.

THANK YOU! The almond 806's will be available soon, folks.

Yup, you're gonna need a good solvent to get the "FREE WORKS" written in magic marker off of the left panel!
I'll email you privately soon. It's likely I'm heading that way either tomorrow or late next week to pick up the 101P and possible another machine from Ben. I could easily transport down. Mark.

Sounds Great!

I have a private email in to you as well, Mark.

YAY!

Now, who wants the Almond pair?

Washer needs pads and is otherwise fine; PolyPump replaced recently.
Dryer has had a new heating element, new duct/filter rack assembly and new drum light lens. Has been run only with proper grounding while I've owned it (3 yrs.)

Both have newish console light bulbs and starters.

Play with this 806 washer first before making the decision to sell your current set. The earlier 806 washers lack a couple of options and aren't quite as flexible as the later models from '69 - '74.

Dan:

Thanks for the caveat, but I'm familiar with the differences, and my first Tag set had an A208 for a washer, so I can deal with a touch less flexibility.

And there's NO ROOM for multiples, LOL!
