Ambassador!

I believe that was a Jordan Marsh or perhaps Allied store brand only.  I remember my family had one as a kid. 1968 model.

Not sure if this was always the case but that year, if you looked at one it had a filter pan like the filter flow. BUT it wasn't a GE. It was an indexing tub Westinghouse.  All the hoses were marked Westinghouse and the tub ring, and lock 'n' spin lid were a ded give away.

It's nice to see the honorable mention. I thought I'd never see that machine mentioned again.

Conspicuously missing is Frigidaire.

I would imagine those to manufacturers discourage the use of Tide given what all those suds would do to a Unimatic (I believe a member/former member's mom killed hers in like 3 or 4 years) as well as the FF system encouraging tons of froth.  Also note there's no Westinghouse Laundromat or any Bendix front loader too.

Neighbors burned out the motor within one year in their 58 Lady with Tide. After the daddy replaced the motor, he said no more Tide and they used All ever after. A friend who got a new HP in 1960 was told by the delivery-installation man that if she wanted it to last, she should not use Tide
