I've not seen any posts from the UK members about ISE appliances and I wondered if you were aware of this brand? They are marketed by the organisation that runs the UKWhitegoods website and are aimed at the small independent retailer rather than the likes of Curries or Comet. When I was in the trade I would have liked to become the service engineer for ISE in my area but could not get the only local independent appliance shop interested in selling them and I didn't have a retail shop.
They are meant to be the appliance service trades answer to the throw away society as they are designed for durability and cost effective repairs.

One UK member did in fact buy one of the Asko designed ISE washers earlier this year. Sadly, it went wrong within its first weeks and got swapped for a Miele! The thread is somewhere in the archives; I've just tried searching for the link but using the keyword ISE throws up a lot of posts containing words that contain those letters, e.g. noise, so that makes for a lot of trawling.

I have heard of ISE but they're not widely available. The machines are rebranded Askos which are pretty durable and shouldn't go wrong. They're also sold as Amazon, not the online retailer but a commercial laundry brand with grey coloured models.

And yes, it's sad that some machines r not as well made or as reliable as they should be, but I think it's down 2 luck as 2 whether a machine is reliable or not, 4 example, my Aunt's Beko, brought in November 2009 is going without any problems, whereas my Nana's old Aqualtis brought earlier in the same year suffered some electrical fault that stopped it from working again. She's got an AEG that is going good after a year. And that's what I make of it all. :)

They are not exclusively made by Asko and some early machines were made by other companies such as Arcelik and Vestel. From what I've heard they are not just re-badged machines sold under various brand names The ISE team do have a significant input in the specification and design.

Hello Fido,

I’m the member who did take delivery of the ise 1607W but was soon replaced by the Miele W5740, which to this present day hasn’t been any bother or skipped a beat

Thanks James, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the ISE. The Miele washing machines are very good but as a service engineer I always found Miele a difficult company to deal with.

Miele

I suppose it’s because there a niche brand really and they want their engineer’s to maintain machines and not others. I contacted them for a liquid detergent insert and they sent me it free of charge. I suppose it’s who you speak to on the day and depends on how helpful they want to be, it’s the second miele machine I’ve owned, the first machine I had for 6 years and then decided I wanted a change in machines
