that is similar to my avanti 2001 tabletop washer/dryer-mine was made in 1983 and the motor and most parts are german made though there is no country of origin marked on the washer. It has bi-directional tumble the split capacitor motor reversing "on the fly"

Selling the brown ones in Trident many years ago...if you take the clothes out and use a small spinner and then use the dryer its very effective, vents out the top but have seen many bought for caravans and holiday homes....

Well done Tom, have fun with it!!

There was one of these at the local junquetorium before it closed a couple of years ago and I wished now I had bought it. I've never seen one before or since.

I remember seeing one of those being sold in a store in Brazil on late 80's.
Here it was branded as Meister and it was brown. (also a semi automatic washer-dryer).

I wish i had bought one of those. Actually, i'd die for one of those nowadays.

Of course it's not a super machine, but it seems to be very fun to use.

You must do a video of it Tom. I always wanted a Tefal Washboy as a kid & the matching spinner.

Righty-ho!
It came today, the lid needs to be guled as its cracked on the side, the dryer well, it works, but it blows cold air over the load, it works well even though it blows cold air. Anyway, once its cleaned up and ive sorted out a place to use it, there will be pictures and a video :)

Amazed that it dries too!

This brings back memories of uni!

I bought an identical machine just 10 years ago for university use, I got it from one of the catalogues in the UK, such as Kays, or Great Universal or something, but it was Hinari brand.

However what I love about yours it that it dries too! Mine never dried, just washed clothes then gravity drained them. Still had to wring them out by hand in the sink.

Do you think that it may just be a case of a faulty heating element in the dryer - that origionally it used to blow warm air?

The dial plays up now aswell!!
It wont wash on the wash and rinse parts of the dial it will only wash when on the drying time dial.
Seller on ebay hasnt responded to my emails so Im not exactly amused..

Oh so sorry to hear that! How annoying too after having it for so little a time.

I know that mine was not constructed all that well, I remember the cardboard peeling dial indicator coming off!

Was it bought new, or used?

I got it used but the seller said it was working fine which clearly it isnt.
