Is it really warped like that or is it some fancy lens effect? |

Fido,
Sorry about the quality of my so called (warped) Photos i've seen plenty worse on here but i'm not a camera expert far from it. I have one camera & i haven't a clue about Lens Distortion. Did a water test on the Hoover tonight & it's 100% water tight, it heats to the correct temperatures & the timer advances fine. Just waiting for these 2 parts (currently out of stock) then i will plumb The Mean Machine in. |

i have this picture management program and it has a "Barrel distortion" feature that allows you to remove the distortion caused by the lens, this is common on all phone/not expensive cameras.
You see it costs sod all to make a multi mega pixel camera but the expensive part is the lens, the more expensive the camera the more accurately the lens will be made, shaped and finished, the less image distortion you will get. |

Hello Craig
if the tub isnt sitting square in the cabinet then you have whats known as a twisted drum, this is caused by the rubber suspension mounts going soft, the result of this is the tub wont sit squarly, it affects spin performance, it is a very common age related problem on Hoovers of this design, but it is a relatively easy job to do, and the parts are still available. Two tools 1/2"/13mm open ended spanner and a good pair of mole grips and some Molykote DX paste to grease up the parts. And of course a Hoover Suspension kit if you need any more help etc dont hesitate to ask Gary |

ah well if the nut has come loose then by all means it should be ok, the rubber doesnt look distorted or perished, it is a bit odd that the nut is loose as the ones used have built in threadlocks on them, you should be able to tighten down the nut as far as it will go (runs out of threaded section). The tub will drop on its suspension when it has filled up with water with a load in it, this is more pronounced on the high level rinse cycle Gary |
