I'm looking for the black lint filter for the A702 washer. Can anyone help? I've got the cup for the fabric softener, but the filter itself is missing. Thanks fellas.

I guess it was actually the stainless steel filter...

You probably already know this

but that's going to be kind of hard to find unless someone here has a spare they're willing to let go of. I recently carted a dead 502 home from Santa Monica in rush hour traffic just so I could 'borrow' the lint filter off of it. I felt a little guilty about it, so to even out the Karma I got it running again, then passed it on with a turquoise lint filter to a guy that thinks it's wonderful. Unfortunately, as rare as they are, you may have to do something similar to get your hands on one. Although, it isn't really necessary to feel guilty about it. That's just me. Good luck in your search.

I do appreciate it, and yes I know it's a rare bird. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks anyway!

I wish you well - I just had some fairly memorable expense and adventure coming up with a chrome-top filter for my A806, so I can only imagine what a job it will be coming up with correct one for your machine.

David's right - there are times you have to "befriend" a whole machine just to get one critical piece. Just goes to show you what crackpots we collectors are, eh? ;)

Best of luck. P.S.: If you don't hit paydirt with this post, don't give up. Re-post every so often. People take vacations from visiting the site, so someone with just what you need might not see your request one time - and might see it another.

SS Lint Filter For A A702

Hi Will, one will turn up and if I  ever get around to sorting all my old MT parts I probably even have an extra one. In the mean time try to find the rubber seal that goes around the bottom of the filter, these are usually not in good shape, then if you find the LF part you will be ready to go.

While it's not an exact replacement for the rubber seal at the bottom of the metal lint filters, D-jones has found a a seal which could be used as a suitable replacement, especially if yours is missing.

On the chance that other people might be interested in the replacement lint filter seal shown in the photo above, the link below will take you to the web site where it's available for $1.81. On many machines that see regular use these seals are either very dried out and deformed, or missing altogether. And since originals(part number 211667)are getting harder to find, this inexpensive, readily available, workable alternative could be used to get by until that elusive original turns up. I know it's not perfect, but it's the best I've been able to find so far. If only the outer lip were just a little taller I wouldn't even bother looking for originals.

By the way, that's an original NOS seal sitting next to the $1.81 replacement for comparison. Both seals have the same ID and OD at the base and approximately the same taper to the outside surface. But since the original seal is taller, its OD at the top is greater.
