Thank goodness, couldn't you just list all these parts on one thread, starting so many new threads with just one part pushes the interesting threads off the screen faster., Thanks John.

Don't Bother To "Thank" Me

And next time won't bother if that is that is the line you are going to take.

Laundress,

Thank you for posting all of this.  Many members don't have a stockpile of parts and machines that John does.

I'm fine with Launderess posting parts here but John points something that's true. Interesting threads (or threads that would need a followup) fall too quickly into the archives.

Now, a solution could be creating less threads but I'd suggest having more active posts. I'm wondering if it's possible to have posts active for something like two months instead of a fixed number of 100 posts (currently, the threads become inactive in the Imperial forum after about 12 days without new posts...).

Robert, what do you think?

Neat:

Thanks to Launderess for providing other members with the opportunity to find a stash of parts for their beloved 1-18.

I will admit I got a shock seeing all those posts, but I couldn't care less how many different threads are created: If Launderess had taken the liberty of putting everything in the one thread, it lessens the opportunity for one to ask a question and get it answered, whereas if a separate thread is provided for each, your question has more chance of being seen, and not skipped or forgotten (esp. if someone is not a paying member and is answering questions where he or she can).

Thankfully, Paying Members have the chance to decipher what new threads there are, as well as ones they have thread that have "bounced back" since their last reading. You simply have to learn to filter out what you don't want to read. Simple.

But I agree with PhilR, with some members being seldom-active here on AW.org, having 200 active posts would probably being preferable on the three main forums (not so much the Member sections - not all that much happens around there), which would allow threads like Launderess's to be of more benefit to WI-WO users (Wash In, Wash Out).

Thanks again for giving others a chance at a collection Launderess, your efforts are appreciated, even if people don't say or show it Laughing
