Today I picked up a Brandt TX768 top load tumble washer. It is badged as a "Kleenmaid by Brandt" as Kleenmaid was the importer. the machine is made in France.

I got it from the recycle centre so it will need work. Belt was missing, some cosmetic issues such as cracked window over control dials, missing door at lower front of machine (hides emergency drain hose.)

I happened to have a belt that fits - I think it is a spare for my LG front loader.
It is a 5PJE1182 belt, it is very tight to fit so I thought it was too small but I just looked up and the correct belt is a 5PJE1161 which is even tighter so the current one will do fine. [The last 4 digits are the belt length in mm.The 5 refers to 5 ribs wide and the PJE is the profile code.] There is no adjustment for the belt.

I have given is a very quick look, the motor turns at the appropriate parts of the dial, but it never ramps up to spin. When set to Spin it just keeps tumbling a bit one way, then a bit the reverse direction.Doesn't seem to time out, either. This might be normal as I haven't put any water in it yet. I have a Philips similar machine and it won't spin from empty, it will only spin after having pumped out water, so the Brandt may be the same.

Are cosmetic parts available for these machines? (the clear plastic window over the dials, and the lower front plastic door which hides the emergency drain hose.)

Kleenmaid went broke so my best chance for parts is to order from overseas.

Would anyone have a link to a parts diagram please???

Thanks

Chris.
