Very cool! I have service lit for this pair but have never seen one in the wild, portables and stacks aren't popular here in the land of basements and fewer apartments.
SQ also had a larger-size stand alone model made by the same Japanese company. Big tub & dryer drum but the dryer was only available in 120 volt service so it would have been a nuisance to actually use unless you really had no other option. Our local SQ distributor at the time had a set at the home show, plugged in and set to demo mode to show the agitation. Three full 360 degree revs in each direction. It was so novel and different compared with the 180 deg stroke norm, I wanted one in the worst way! |

Hey Guys
I used to have the Hitachi version of this washer :-) It was a great machine with the full 360 degree arc agitation. Did have a tendancy to tangle a bit though, especially long sleeved shirts and bed sheets. Overall though very fun to use. I have put the video in below that i made to demonstrate the agitation :-) Thanks Matt |

Hi Greg we saw a few of these in this area and I even got my hands on one or two, the dryers were junk and you didn't miss much with the washer either, LOL. The washer did have a tall agitator with a 360 degree stroke and it did tangle, but I do think it did a little better than the Hitachi, GEs at actually washing dirty clothing. |
