Hi guys,
Just a question if I may! My friend has an intergrated Electrolux Washer Dryer, which is around 7 years old, and it's starting to play up on the spin cycle; both the 1200 RPM and the 850 RPM one. It drains the water, distributes as normal, but only does two very short bursts of spinning at a slow speed (which it always does before moving onto the main spin) then the programme ends; leaving the clothes dripping wet. Any ideas what this could be? I wondered if it is the motor brushes? Guess if it is the programmer then it may be best to buy a new machine, given the age of it. Thanks in advance, Chris |

Id doubt its the brushes if its tumbling as normal on wash and distribute as they tend to cause erratic speeds, slow speeds or no motor action when they go.
Id be pretty sure the electronic speed control may be on its way out but Id daresay its attached to the timer and without seeing the machine in person reckon it likely the timer/pcb as a whole needs replacing. Best bet may be to look on fleabay for a replacement timer/programmer workings or a scrapmachine where the bearings are failed and transfer them across. I may be wrong on this but seems the most likely cause assuming the tachometer (if the motor has one - im never sure about modern machines!!) is ok bearing in mind its tumbling/distributing normally. 7 years old only? I'd stick to that and ask for a quote! |

I read somewhere on this forum that sometimes blockages in the filters on electrolux group machines can sometimes cause them to behave like this, I think it was AquaCycle who stated this. Best of luck Tom |

I've had one repair on my 7 year old Frigidaire front loader (made by Electrolux) and for the same issue -- would do everything except spin. I was sure it was the control board, but it turned out to be the door lock of all things. Cost me about $300 to have repaired. That is an easy fix and I even found a video online for doing it yourself (although after the fact.)
