Hi all,
I made this video this morning, of my Maytag (ASKO) running a final 1400 RPM with a full load of bath sheets, bath towels and a bath mat - so a very full and heavy load!

Some key times in the video are:

01:36 - short distribution spins stop, and main spin starts (800 rpm)

03:37 - increase in speed from 800 RPM to 1400 RPM

06:38 - starts to slow down from 1400 rpm, back to distribute speed

08:29 - auto door opening

The camera on my iPhone isnt good enough to pick up the movement of the inner unit; you can see it moving about on some parts of the video though.

For those that don't know, Asko machines have the tub suspended on 4 large shock absorbers, so it is almost a separate unit within the shell of the machine.

Although you cant really see it on this video, the inner tub was vibrating heavilly, and the main shell of the machine was static; on other machines, the whole unit would be shaking a fair bit.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video!

Chris

Thank you for the youtube link. Really enjoyed the final cotton spin sequence, it would be just great to see more video's of this machine in action.

Cool video Chris. My mum had a built in Neff washer dryer that had the same separate tub arrangement back in early 1980s. However the outer door had an interlock so you couldn't open it with the machine on as the inner door wasn't interlocked although I worked out how to bypass that when she wasn't around!! It also seemed to do about 500 rinses with only one spin at the end which went straight to 1000 unless you pressed the variomatic button. She didn't like it after her hotpoint 1504 top loader as it took forever.

I guess this design with the separate tub made unbalanced loads less of an issue as I don't remember it banging about at all. Yours seems really quiet.

Hi Steve,
thanks for writing back!

Yeah, it is relatively quiet, even when spinning at full speed - the camera didnt pick it up but the inner drum was shaking quite violently, yet the rest of the cabinet was static - I think this helps with noise levels too!

I'll make some more videos over the next few days and up load them for you
