The first time I was even aware of the Hamilton brand was in the 1969 Consumer's Reports article on Automatic Washers which was the last time there were so many diverse American brands tested. IIRC within a few years most of those brands were either assimilated into others or just plain gone. The Hamilton tested seemed to have cabinet specs and issues different from the Norge although the article indicates that it's capacity was, like the Fedders/Norge, 30% larger than most; usually if a machine was a clone it was rated right next to its original with a phrase that went "model tested essentially similar to Handydandy model 666"...Didn't we just download an extensive Hamilton Service Manual? That should tell us something. |
