Hi!

I was out with my nan today & she was explaining a problem she has with her Hotpoint Washing Machine. It's the same as HooverAC110s, except its got a pull out drawer not a swingy one. She told me that during the spin, it doesn't ramp up to 1400rpm, which it is set to do, so clothes are coming out wet. Do you have any idea what this is? It was bought in 2007 & has been used max 3 times a week as my nan lives on her own. She said it started happening ever since I cleaned her detergent drawer out.

She said she was happy to buy a new machine but I just want to know what the problem might be so she can avoid it with her new machine.

My nan uses prog no 6 (non-colourfast cotton) & uses 40c temp with full 1400rpm spin. Detergents are Daz Tablets & Lenor Regular Spring Awakening.

THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES!!!

Balancing Issues

Have you checked to see the machine is not over/under-loaded? If the machine is either, it may be detecting during the distribution phase a large misbalance and deciding to avoiding the spin phase (if its electronic, not timer based).

Otherwise, you may have some sort of control failure. Perhaps try out setting the machine to a spin only cycle to see if it spins, if it does, you know it *might* be out-of-balance, otherwise, you may need a repair. Do try getting it fixed, the world doesn't needanother machine in landfill right now...

Issue

Yeah try and set it Fast Spin only (It sounds the model before my machine) without any laundry in and see what happens then :)

I'm going to nan's tomorrow & will try the fast spin inside, seems my sister's having it anyway, it wont last long then :D

I will try & get a few pics of the machine, model number etc.

Never heard it in action though, except that time I was about 8 & we went to nans & I heard it spin. Thought it was hellish noisy compared to our LG at home
