Brilliant brochure Paul, I had a Zanussi Brochure but it featured the washer/dryer with the drop down outer door. Our next door neighbour had the 800rpm washcraft when we lived on the Wirral.

Thanks for posting.

Vintage Zanussi

Hi Paul

I would love to get my hands on the 2001 IS model. Looks so cool.

Thanks for this, really interesting. It's such a shame to see Electrolux devalue the Zanussi brand in recent years.

I have the Z9191T from the follow up range to this. The only difference is a slightly different drum and plastic door trim instead of chrome.

Interesting toploader, overhere we only got the ones with the flat control panel like the Z914 and the Z918.

Thank you for sharing the brochure!

Great brochure Paul.

Funny there was a Z919T washing machine on eBay last week and now there is a Z910 dryer on there too! Must be the Zanussi season.

Top loader

My mother's last machine was a Zanussi 'compact' top-loader (no idea of the model number) :( Similar to the one in the brochure, but without the 'stand up' control panel at the rear, it was flush with the top.

It died when the seal on the recirculation pump failed, flooding the kitchen and making a horrible, smoky mess of the windings....

I still have the motor, drain pump, and some of the control gear from it, somewhere......

All best

Dave T

Zanussi computer control

electron1100's profile picture
this thread brings back a horrible memory, i lugged one of these off a guys trailer and into the electrical skip at work, this was before i got back into washing machines DOH! and there have been others too but this one always stuck in my mind, it was not long after i got my first retro Hoover, the A3308 computer control 1100.............ah memories

these were such solidly built machines and obviously posed a viable threat to the UK manufacturers

Hi Paul

Many thanks for posting the brochure - a fantastic read from very early 1981, so this might very well be the 1st washcraft brochure!

Certainly been interesting to see the entire 1st range of Washcrafts and the realisation that Zanussi was another earrly entrant into the computer controlled side of things, with their Input System. Had no idea that it was such an early model and also never knew that it was originally sold as a standard machine rather than semi integrated.

The semi integrated machine from 1983 is below...

The original Washcraft Washer-Dryer model WD2290, which was derived from the older style of Zanussi machines...

....until it was replaced by a pure Washcraft washer dryer, in the form of the WD9091.
This machine awaits a bearing change and cost me a £tenner as scrap from a local repair shop.
Needs a new door seal too.

Washer Dryer

Hi Rob, you ok?.

My Aunty had the zanussi washer dryer and would pull down the outerdoor to watch it wash, bet you thought I was gonna say something else then, lol.

I think it had a spin speed of 790rpm, but it was a lovely machine. Thanks for posting the other info.

Are you going to do a Servis thread, would love to see the full history of servis washing machines. I remember my mum having the MK72.

Regards

Paul

WDI9091

This was the fully integrated washcraft washer-dryer which my Auntie bought in 1987. One of my all time faves. Here is a picture of me with it in 1991. Week after getting back from Menorca!
