This a bit of a push for Imperial, I know, but a dear friend of mine in New England let me know about an old movie called "The Magnetic Monster" that will be airing tonight on Turner at 9:30 PM EDT. In the first 5 or 10 minutes of the movie, this "monster" causes the doors of the 1953 Westinghouse appliances in a dealer's showroom flip open and shut, à la Close Encounters Of the Third Kind. It may be the best part of the movie... LOL
Westinghouse just seemed to love getting product placement in "B" Horror movies, didn't they?? |

Thanks for the heads-up on that one, Paul. My TV is generally locked onto TCM most of the time, anyway.
Here's another one coming up on TCM this Friday at 5:15 a.m. central time: The Heart Of New York (1932) "Inventing the washing machine makes a New York plumber a rich man and gives him a new set of problems." Haven't seen it before so, I don't know if any fun washer footage is actually shown. |
