Ad says 1957 and desires $1,000 even though it needs "a few coils replaced..." Is this really that rare and worth that kind of money? Yes, I know it's worth what people will pay for it but am curious...

It may be rare, but still not worth that kind of money.

Maybe somebody has some gambling debts to settle?

This range needs knobs. Even if they had the original knobs a grand is a lot of money. Fortunately, the ovens would have open coil bake and broil elements which would not be that hard to replace IF the frames are there and undamaged. From what's visible, it's not too clean either.
