Hello guys!

I wanted to create a thread finally regarding some non-make up changes (so this is not about new design or sth like that) but changes about Candy washers inside.

Starting with AQUAMATIC.
New range Aquamatic (outer design is the same, with changed control panel), called AQUAMATIC-TEMPO, because time is reduced more/less on all programmes.
As all Candy machines, they are equipped with sensors, so machine cuts out the time and decides rinsing type depending on the load.
Finally, machines have a new drum, (nothing special, but different to the older one), that is slightly bigger therefore managing to hold 4kg.
As well as new novelty to simple Candies, all machines got EcoMix 20c cycle, that is having distributions and special drum movements during the cycle.
Distri-wash is also implied on some other cycle - one more reason for washing 0.5kg more besides the drum ;)

Candy GrandO Comfort

Story very similar to Aquamatic.
Simple range, updated with previously mentioned EcoMix 20c, and all models have load and rinse sensors, that work a little bit differently than KGmode on higher end models:
Unless machine is really full to it's capacity (and we all know how that is) it is not going to do the maximum time.
With normal loads, machines usually takes
2hours 10 minutes for Cottons 60
1hour 30 minutes for cotton 40
1 hour 10 minutes for cottons 30. (this was already on simple EVO models, and I've heared those exact times from 3 completely different users of them)

Also, a 10kg model with 74l drum (same as standard) is now available in 60cm depth due slimmer rubber seal and glass door :)

Catalogue is in the link

Tumble dryers & Dishwashers

One of the biggest Candy's improovements compared to the past few years. The newest ones seem to be working without any problems, especially Sensors seem to be very well. For Quality - time will tell, but so far, much less repairs with newer models, and much more sattisfied customers - with results of drying and creasing (thanks to new paddles.

The new drum is also launched, and slowly will become part of all of the dryers.

The dishwashers:
No major changes, just a few simple models are now 45 and 47db loud, 42 on the night cycle, compared to only one (complicated with dispay) that had silent motor.

That's about it, leave comments and impressions guys :) Any questions, please ask.

Nice additions!  Seems Hoover/Candy are ones to watch, they seem to be one of the most common-sense manufacturers when it comes to programming nowadays.

Having used a "Hoover Bling" these latest models are looking promising :)

Thank you for showing these updates on the Candy range of appliances. I'm still very keen on these products. Have 'Hoover' counterpart models been updated too?

As most of you probably already know I had a little update of my own recently and I replaced my dishwasher, tumble dryer and washer (but keeping the old one too) with the 2012 Hoover models and I'm chuffed to bits with them, especially with the tumble dryer which is packed with features but above all it dryes quickly and evenly... also the bigger drum allows crease free clothes everytime (I rarely fill it up to capacity).

I'm a bit less enthusiastic with the new washing machine (but still happy with it) as it's very finicky when it comes to spin a small load... good job I kept the old 1 (Hoover too) which has always tackled every load brilliantly and it keeps to do so with the most awkward load.

Cheers

Now, why don't they offer an Evo washer door on the dryers, just looks a bit mis matched if you ask me.
Looks great models again though, especially great to see the compact machine given another makeover! I hope they haven't introduced plastic paddles to it though? It was great to see metals ones inside the drum.

Its such a shame the UK only has the one with the jet with the LCD display, it if had the jet, I would probably buy it to test it out. The other lower models which do have the jet, also contain the loud motor, which although quieter than my WM31, I want to replace with a machine that's much quieter so it can be used more at night time, as we now get cheaper electricity.

Who knows maybe one day Candy will launch the advance top line models with jet to the UK.

New Aquamatic Drum

Hi, Glenfieldmathk1,
The new drum on Aquamatic has plastic paddles, but they are very firmly attached, same as on all other machines except Indesit which are typically loose :P

Here's an image, I know it's not clear as it could have been, but still shows enough :)

Screwed, not welded drum!

Today I saw The new Aquamatic drum in one store I was in, and I couldn't believe even the new drum is screwed, I honestly expected it to be welded like it is on their big(standard) models

Post# 680336 , Reply# 15   5/21/2013 at 07:44 (3,964 days old) by glenfieldmathk1 (Glenfield-Leicester-UK)

I actually quite like those paddles now I have seen them, thanks to your photo. They look a lot better than the shallow ones that they use in there full size machines. I just hope they introduce a larger version of the Aquamatic drum, with a larger full length paddle like in this Aquamatics into the full line.

Meanwhile - I think screwed drums are stronger than Welded, as there has been a lot of issues with Welded drums, Especially with Indesit Company & Candy Company!
I guess Candy have decided to rectify the fault properly now, I'm sure Indesit will follow.

Very pleased to see they are using screwed drum in this model like in Electrolux Group machines. I wonder if they will start in the bigger machines one day.

Nice looking product

Well... it couldn't have changed a great deal... the paddles are exactly the same as the ones in my 2012 dryer... however those patterns in the drum are new. Shame they didn't built a shiny drum like those in some other brands.

What I mostly love about the dryer though is the way it operates... all those funny shapes and patterns are just sales gimmicks in my opinion ;-)

like the updated Candy's, I'm sure they'll sell well like they do. I've seen on YouTube that with the Aquamatics, they spin anti-clockwise as opposed 2 the usual clockwise spin on the larger models, I'm not sure of the reasoning behind this but maybe they use different programmers, perhaps nrones will know more about this, I hope clockwise spin doesn't disappear from Hoover-Candy's lol :)

That Dishwasher isn't so great - looks a bit flimsy too when the door opened. still I like the bottom plate rack blue things that move to fit the plate inside.

Hoover/Candy Claim you can fit 15 place settings in, yet they only show 8 large plates, plus an additional plate, that's 9, of which they can all fit inside a Slimline Bosch Logixx, alongside 9 bowls, which weren't shown inside the dishwasher in the video.

It would be interesting to see if 15 place settings actually can fit inside with a video to show it all, that's 15 plates, 15 bowls, 15 saucers/side plates, 15 cups/mugs, 15 wine Glasses/glasses/platic beakers/plastic bottles. Plus 15 knives 15 forks 15 spoons & 15 tea spoons. Plus a Large oven tray/serving Dish/Large Saucepan.
If that can't fit that all in, then its technically not 15 according to a local press article which shows how even a 12 place setting dishwasher by Hotpoint could actually only hold 11, and a 13 place setting Bosch Exxcel could only hold 12, yet a Miele 12 place setting dishwasher, actually held more.

Another thing I don't get is, why only an LED Digital display, why not LCD which actually shows the programme name written on it? would be much simpler.

Has this one got that spray thing they introduced to Hoover on the bottom rack which sprays pans?

Who's photo is that? They certainly don't sell Hoover Deluxe dryers in Local independent retailers!

Aristocrat models aren't available in all Independent local retailers, only Euronics stores, something to consider, as my local store isn't offering them, then I realised its an independent local but it's not Euronics its privately owned.

Meanwhile the range that the extended guarantee is available on is pretty limited, the higher end models with 10KG load and LCD display only have 1 year guarantee.
I guess there's still a 5 years Parts only guarantee with these 3 years full guarantee models?

Ive owned 2 hoover/candy dishwashers, they aren't that flimsy, granted, the candy nova was a heap of rubbish but the hoover slimline is very good.

Glenfield,

Euronics stores are independent retailers, Euronics is the name given to the buying group and is a franchise, much like Spar or Nisa corner shops.

Have you got a link to the local press article about the place settings?  Would certainly be an interesting read, especially for a local article.

Post# 682728 , Reply# 29   6/6/2013 at 09:22 (3,948 days old) by glenfieldmathk1 (Glenfield-Leicester-UK)

It was in Glenfield Gazette some months ago (I think 1-2 years ago Leicester Mercury did something similar too as they teamed with Which? to do an article about dishwashers), I no longer have it though I will send them an Email and see if there is a response.

It was in the Agony Aunt type section, where people ask questions. Many questions were asked- 1 laundry related, and 1 dishwasher related, both responses were very in depth, some more than others, the questions went over 3 pages. Its a shame they no longer have the Q&A (agony Aunt type thing in it any more).

Someone asked why is the fluff in the dryer after drying black laundry dark blue? (response along the lines of Dark laundry is actually dyed in very dark blue dye to get the black colour, and washing has caused some of the blue dye to come out and mix with the water making it lighter in colour so you can see blue instead of black)
And then at the very bottom someone said what does place settings mean in a dishwasher.
The response went along the lines of "- each place settings hold 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 saucer/side plate, 1 cup/mug, 1 wine Glass/plastic beaker/baby bottle/Average drinking glass, 1 knife 1 fork, 1 spoon & 1 tea spoon. So a 12 place setting should hold 12 of the items listed above, plus a large pan/saucepan/serving dish.
They went on to say that some dishwashers claim they hold 12, 13, 14 place settings when actually they don't, or manufacturers place settings are worked out differently."
They then went on to different brands and said how many they actually hold, they mentioned 2 Bosch's, the 13 & 14 models, with the 13 actually only holding 12, but the 14 holding 14? they spoke about AEG, Hotpoint and Miele also.
They finally said something like - don't buy online until you've actually seen the product, and whats on the inside, it could be smaller than you think.

I wrote down the list of items to make up one place settings, as I wanted to try in my Neff. I managed to get it all in, but couldn't fit the pan in! (Guessing my 7 coke glasses and 5 wine glasses were bigger than what they call average)!

If they respond I'll get the actual response copy & pasted over for you.

Candy can fit 15 place settings (more than that actually)

In the image everything is detailly explained. The standards, where to put what, I think it has even more than you wrote it should have, but check.

In the video it clearly says it can fit up to 8 XXL plates (34.5cm), that is not a standard plate which is used when counting place settings or anything else. I highly doubt those plates could fit in the Bosch slimline dishwasher, or any other dishwasher since those plates would hit the spray arm. I think for all dishwashers, 33cm was absolute maximum for bottom rack without any problems, ang gimmicks.

Also - this video is for demonstrational purposes, we would all fit more in that particular dishwasher, and any other dishwasher, but no manufacturer is going to cram up the dishwasher to its absolute max for an advertising video.

I'm not sure about your story for Bosch, Hotpoint and AEG not fitting plates they labeled on in. Such articles (including Which?) are so pointless, since people who created them aren't clearly aware how the standards are as well as they should be. I had acces to Which? for a month, and from reading of the review it was very clear those people did not open the instruction manual of the appliance, otherwise they wouldn't be complaining about stuff that is clearly displayed how to be done.
And again - I don't think they can go on the market labeled on Energy label as 14place settings if they can't hold it. It's not so easy to get to the market, even with big brands such as Bosch, Candy or Electrolux.

So here's the image of Candy fitting 15 place settings. On the right side of the pictures you have a list of what and how many of things are inside. Bear in mind that this is for a model without the 3rd rack, and with 3rd rack they fit even more!

I was reading the Which? report for my hoover slimline dishwasher, it was 1 point of a best buy award and according to thier tests, if you are thrifty and clever with how you load it, you can fit more than the rated 10 place settings inside it, believe me, Ive tried and sucseeded lol :)

I've got the sister of that machine featured in the link

haxisfan's profile picture
My Hoover Dynamic dishwasher has exactly the same bottom basket as that Candy up there (but those blue plastic bits on the sides) and I can honestly say that I've been truly amazed by its versatility and the amount of stuff I've been able to fit in it. My dw also has a 3rd drawer at the top (unlike the model featured on the link which is probably a basic model) which is godsend for those long handled pieces of cutlery.

Funny enough, the inside of the machine hasn't changed much comparing it with my old Candy... it's just the design of the baskets and the hollow door which allow more usable space inside...

Ooops..

..Sorry, I meant Glenfield Local (a quarterly magazine, currently not available online - doesn't seem to have a website either) not Glenfield Gazette - thank to Jon in a personal message through Facebook - who sent a link to Glenfield Gazette, I can clearly tell from the font used, that's the other newspaper that we used to get. We haven't received a Gazette for a few months, though by the looks of it, its still going online.
I have asked the Neighbors to look around for the Glenfield Local news magazine thing. I'll see if hopefully they can find it. One said that she thinks she still has it and she will be looking today (Friday). If not, I will email them.
I'll start a different thread if they do, or post to the Facebook forum instead, because as mentioned I have no copy of the local, it was removed from our household a few days after receiving as mum doesn't advertisement magazines and newspapers with adverts in. -- She says newspaper should have news, not be full of adverts, like our local ones are, and even Leicester Mercury has sooo many adverts in now, and thats not even free. (I understand a free paper to have adverts, but one you pay 55p or whatever it is to). It probably costs them what less than 1p to make (plus reporter costs).

Anyway, Its interesting to see that the Candy does hold the 15 place settings they claim.
It would still be nice to see in real life though, as I'm sure my bowl/dishes look bigger than the ones shown, and would be interesting to see how different thickness of plates, which do vary by household would fit in!

Will be interesting to see how other manufacturers react, will we be seeing a 16 place one soon? to try outdoo each other, just like Anti-stain/ASR competition recently?

Yup, rebadged ASKO but on own specification!
As an example ASKO as I'm aware, doesn't market a 17 place settings dishwasher at 90 cm high but only the XXL machines that are 86 cm up to 91, changing the feet height

17 Place settings

I don't speak Swedish, and I am too lazy to google-translate, however:

www.asko.se/kok/diskmaskiner/d589...
"17 kuvert" sounds very much like "17 place settings" (in Italian it is quite similar: "place setting" = "coperto")

www.asko.se/kok/diskmaskiner/d565...
"kuvert (17 st.)" raises the same "17 place settings" suspect

And for the height, Fulgor website states "up to 90 cm", but the user's manual states "height: 857-912 mm": exactly the same 86-91 cm as Asko...

Hi!

I'm an Italian boy with the passion for the Candy's brand. Sorry for my english…

I've a lot of questions about washing machine and dishwasher…

1) For some years now, no longer produces Candy washing machines with motor inverter, leaving this to the Hoover brand.

Today, when I visited the website, I found this model

www.candy.it/prodotti/scheda_prod...

In the name appear the letter "H", typical of models equipped with the three-phase motor; in the energy label, in addition, the noise level in the washing phase has dropped to 51dB (just as for the models Hoover equipped with the same engine).
The strange thing is that it is not advertised in any way! Why?!? It is really a model with motor Inverter?

Post# 688888 , Reply# 40   7/12/2013 at 06:04 (3,912 days old) by nrones ()
@Newbravo

Yes, that model is indeed with inverter motor. Every Candy model with letter "H" is 100% having inverter motor.
I guess it is not advertised because of the money, or who knows what reason...

It depends on the market, on some markets (mostly where Hoover doesn't exist) Candy always had models with inverter available ;)

Now that you say you like Candy brand, visit my YouTube channel (LINK) - there might be some Candy videos for you to see ;)

Do you have skype? My nickname is Newbravo

Back to the topic…

ok, for some reason Candy doesn't want to advertise the model. But why she doesn't put any mark or label on the machine (like your GO Plus in the video)?

Do you know something about Candy dishwasher?

Candy

I don't speek italian good enough to be able to communicate, and I don't use Skype...sorry.

There is a label, just the picture on the website is a little bit wrong. Why would they waste money on taking photo of another machine just because of 1 label, no customers will notice ;)

What about Candy dishwashers?

Post# 689027 , Reply# 43   7/12/2013 at 20:00 (3,911 days old) by Newbravo (Italy)

About the dishwasher...

I have seen on various catalogs of different manufacturers of dishwashers that the "3 in 1" function aims to adapt the parameters of the selected program to achieve the best cleaning results using tabs "all in one". Taking as an example the dishwasher AEG, the key:
1) disables the lights "low salt" and "rinse aid"
2) varies the duration of the washing steps
3) disables the rinse aid dispenser and leads to the minimum setting of the water softener (it should then also block the supply of salt).

My question is: since both the instruction booklets and the data sheet repairers of dishwashers Candy speaks only of the first two functions, is there anyone of you who knows if even for the Italian brand is deactivated l 'supply of salt and rinse aid?

I am attaching a link to the data sheet (to download the file you need to scroll to the bottom of the page, passing the preview with "Candy" and press the link "Get Manual" which appears in a few seconds.) Once obtained, open it, and scroll down to page 22 (table headed "Option 3 in 1"): you will find explicated the function in question and details of the changes compared to the standard program.

What do you think?

thank you very much

The other question about the dishwasher is: who actually designs the slimline version (45cm) of the Italian brand? I know that they design only "standard" version (60cm).

I would take any Candy manual with a pinch of salt... you're bound to find mistakes on them! The '3 in 1' does exactly what you said above... it doesn't just disactivate the lights, it reduces/annul the operation of the correspondent devices.

If you like and trust Candy products, just get them and enjoy them... as I do: don't be too picky with their manuals ;-)

@ Haxisfan

Thanks so much!! Are you sure of that?

P.S.: I'm Italian. "take any Candy manual with a pinch of salt" is slang?

You're welcome!

Si... I meant don't take the manuals too seriously. It's been my experience for many years with Candy appliances and I've often found wrong information on their instruction booklets.

A typical example, my Candy fridge-freezer, like most fridge-freezers, can be set from 1 to 6 where 1 is normally the lowest setting (so the machine wouldn't cool as much), but according to the manual... the lowest setting corresponds to a lower temperature (this is not the case).

Ciao

Slimline dishwasher

Candy's slimline dishwashers are built by Chinese Company Midea. The same dishwashers are used made for Gorenje, Zanussi, Whirlpool, and lots of other well known brands.

Ok, the slimline are designed and manufactured by Midea.

Large Dishwashers (such as Futura3, for example) are designed by Candy and this is also seen by comparing the interior of the latest models with those of the early 2000s, when they were still made in Italy.
But the question is: their current production is also carried out in the same factory by Midea or in another property of Candy (after the closure of the Italian factory in Bessel)?

------------------------
Another difference I've noticed between the last Candy washing machines than, for example, my old Activa myLogic 1000 is the suppression of sound-absorbing panels inside the machine and the headset that covers the engine. The only thing left to drown out the noise is the sheet of corrugated material under the machine. So much so that for many years has disappeared the writing "Acoustic Comfort" on the models and the subsequent citation in the various catalogs of the brand of a system that will break down the noise.

On Hoover (identical to Candy), however, there are 3 lines currently produced:
1) The Dynamic Silent Pulse Inverter
2) The Dynamic Super Silent
3) The Vision Tech (nothing)

The first are those with the inverter motor and actually they record a few decibels less than the others, especially in the wash. In the catalog there is a paragraph devoted to these models and the only element that contributes to the result looks like this engine (no panel or headset, or other)
Between the second and third, however, I did not understand what difference there is: why take the nickname "Super Silent" when they emit the same noise values of those who do not have it? Nor catalog make distinctions.

Do you know that "plus" have Super Silent compared to Vision Tech?

Thanks thanks thanks!!! ;)

@Newbravo

The full size Candy dishwashers are produced in Candy's plant in China. So it's 100% Candy, just chinese labor.

The Dynamic Silent Pulse inverter, and The Dynamic Super Silent I think is identical, however "Silent Pulse Inverter" is the new name for "Super Silent" - they have inverter silent motors, unlike VisionTech that have normal brushed motor.
