So how deep is deep? Half a tub of water? Two-thirds, maybe?

I thank people are getting tierd of the shallow water washes the top loaders are
presenting.
So people spoke and there is the option
for more water like all machines should
give you and option.
I have no idea how high is set with this
machine ...but I assume as high is in any
new BD Whirlpool made machines.

Is max just an inch of water more? Is it full up to the top of the tub? Without a photo we just don't know.

•Deep water wash option - Gives you more control over the amount of water used during the Heavy Duty cycle. Depending on the load size detected, the wash basket can fill up to the maximum wash water level

Whatever that means.

This is still the Whirlpool VMW POS

See Maytags wonderful BS video's here

Great to see a deep wash water feature is back, I guess that for energy star rating they don't use Heavy duty cycles on test, just like here in Europe they only use Cottons 40 & 60. I bet thats how they can add the deep water level wash to Heavy duty, as these wont get tested, and therefore they still energy star rated, while consuming more water than US state allows on washers these days?

BTW: Whats the temperature difference between cold, darks cool, lights cool, warm? Surely there cant be much difference, but also what happened to warm rinse, and extra hot settings?

Extra hot? You can't even get plain hot nowadays. My sister just complained about her new Roper not giving hot water. I told her she will have to turn the cold water valve off to get hot which is what she is doing now. On some washers you can't even do that cause the ATC will turn the water completely off it it's too hot.

How weird and or sad that a deep water wash now has to be an added option on a washing machine.

It's like buying a full size car and paying extra for the passengers seats.

New Commercial BD WP Washers

This s a good sign that WP is using the new VMW machines in commercial applications, I think that after a few bugs get ironed out of the VMW machines that these may be the most reliable top load washers that WP has EVER produced, now if only they would stop overcharging for control boards.

Wash Cycle

Wonder what the wash cycle timing will be like in a commercial machine. As I seem to remember complaints that these machines fussed about trying to decide what to do next.

The water level makes me wonder. Its sad its only for the Heavy Duty cycle, the delicate could use it as well. One is much better off getting a BOL model that actually has the manual select pressure switch.

The whole Maytag line is now a marketing gimmick to get you to a "higher more featured" model or brand.

I cant imagine the commercial machines being as fast as the DD, but if they are or the time is shorter I probably would take one if I had to over the regular BD.

John--- Do all Whirlpool VMWashers have impellers, or can they have a standard agitator? The examples I found on YouTube seemed to be impeller-based. Does this mean the impeller has made it to commercial applications?

The newer BD come both in impeller and agitator models, both auto fill and select dial fill. The control board governs the agitation.

deep water

the deep water option just adds more water if the machine senses a medium load it will fill to a large setting instead thats all it does
if the machine senses a large load it will fill right up to the max instead of to large

dont blame whirlpool or matyag or whirlpool's subsidiaries if there were not strict water usage rules and regulations appliance manufacturers would not have to make crap simple.
in the Caribbean here we dont worry about that i mean we get water from reservoirs that rain refills or from the sea trough a desalination plant ....a washer needs water when they figure that out maybe they will stop with the energy restrictions ...

Maytag I have noticed seem to say screw saving energy. They seem to know that there are folks tired of this wash with no water and

they have been selling quite well.Have you read Maytags dishwasher manual? There Jetclean plus dishwasher besides having a huge motor uses

12.7 Gallons I use the term huge motor when compared to most dishwasher's today.I get saving gas and all sense it does vanish but water really don't go anywhere.Ours comes out of the well then is put in the septic tank and is filtered back to clean water as it trickles

through the bedrock.I do not like these washers that just rub damp clothes back and forth and they don't have the smell they used to

when I was growing up.

Of Course....

It doesn't say how much you get for the rinse..... (though maybe the user guide does)
