Well... my WDT1061 is slowly dying,... something to do with the on/off button..... so time to change it.

I will be buying second hand :( .. even if it is to do me just a few months, as there a place in Belfast City Centre that does them reconditioned with 6 months warranty and PAT tested....

I'm just wondering what your thoughts would be on these machines?

Don't get either.

Your current machine is a lot better than those two offerings!

Your WDT1061 beats them hands down, no competition!.

Get your local engineer to replace the on/off switch, common part, not a expensive repair, start making some calls tomorrow am!

wdt1061

yes, you lot are slowly convincing me to keeep it, there's a space in my kitchen it could stay in...... but I would rather have something a bit more modern for the meantime

I'd go for.....

The Zanussi.... My sister had a FLA1101W for years, hers was second hand and it ran for around 11 years fault free. The bearings finally killed it after washing away between 10-15 loads a week.

Very quiet, very solid and very stable machines. I can't really fault them!

Brilliant engineering from Zanussi.

well i actually own an FLA1002W and first things first, I HATE IT! was performance is shocking! it cant deal with stains unless they're weak such as a fresh tea stain, i remember i once put a load of darks on with underwear in the load, and what i found afterwards sent me overboard! the stains on the underwear had literally transferred onto a pair of tights and a black vest top!
anyway enough of the awful performance and onto wash times, they're ridiculous as well, its meant to take 1:45 for a cotton 40 but i timed it once and found it took over 2 hours! i think it was 2:20 tbh. so what i'm trying to say is basically don't go for it, id go for the hoover any day!

oh my! very different reviews there. I was swaying towards the Zanussi tbh. The Hoover seems to do the same as my mum's Dynamic.... in that it is very choosey with the spins, i.e. it will only spin with a full or even load....
