This was posted over on Retro Renovation; seller indicates it's heading to the scrap yard on 6/15. Wasn't sure if anyone was looking for one of these.

OOO!! And I drove through the Syracuse area on Friday on the way back from the big road trip...

I'll contact them to see if they would be willing to sell just the washer-dryer unit...

I'll bet he'd sell it separately since the scrap word was used. That would be a great catch for you Paul.

Well, it was not a planned outing, but with Phil's help (and truck!) I managed to save the Washer/Dryer Combo and the wall oven in its base cabinet.

It was a near-miss, though... I heard back from the seller on Tuesday night that someone had driven from Oregon to pick up the entire set! In the interest of saving the entire kitchen, I told the seller that I would back down. Well, it turns out that the folks were short on $$$... They wound up buying the stainless counter unit (with the 'Cabinettes') and the sink/dishwasher cupboard. The washer/dryer and oven were still available and by golly, I took 'em!!

I'll start a specific thread about the Combo in Imperial and about the oven in Super!!

Update

Paul,

As fate would have it , my son and his new wife are honeymooning in Upstate NY. They went to purchase the whole kitchen, and upon arriving we're told that a gentleman from Canada needed the washer combo, and oven for parts. My son called me and told me the story, and I told my son to offer to buy the remaining pieces, less the washer and oven. My son then was told by the owner that he had been offered $300.00. For the combo and oven. My son then offered $70.00 for the rest of the kitchen. Prior to my son knowing about the other offer, he was trying to offer less money for the whole kitchen, and that is when the owner mentioned the man from Canada! I knew it was you Paul, and I didn't want to take your spare parts!

Enjoy!

Marty

OMG Marty, that is such a wild coincidence!! I told the seller a dozen times that if the folks who were honeymooning wanted the whole set, then I'd graciously back down in the interest of keeping the set together.

If they ever have any questions about the dishwasher, I've restored two like the one in this kitchen now, so I'd be happy to share my experience.

Say, would they be interested in a turquoise wall refrigerator??

Hi Roger,

I know we were close but I had to get back home for the next morning (I was there just in time at 4 AM, didn't sleep much after that!).
