 You got s hole at a very young age! Today was a day to order new parts for my Electrolux washer from 2009 (EWFLW65IRRO). Also my refrigerator water dispenser stopped working and I brought a multi-meter to find out if the water solenoid was defected and it is and I thought it maybe the computer board went bad. oh it can happen from rubbing, back and forth, in and out, constantly over and over, never having a rest break at the same spot from simple friction....anywho
now, about your door boot...also check to make sure something inside the outter cabinet area is not rubbing against it...once fixed, you don't want it to happen again.... try repairing it...or just slip on a new one, being careful in the future of not to let your clothing drag against it while pushing them in and pulling out with too much force.......and toss that old one in the trash....these things can be delicate....and yet others can take a licking with never having a problem.... | ||

FL Washer Door Boot Failure Many DBs fail from the friction of the back or outside of the DB rubbing against itself. SQ had quite a problem with DBs doing this on their Big Door FL washers, now when we replace them SQ has us apply a special silicone grease to the OUTSIDE of the DB in areas where this friction can occur. This seems to have solved the problem on SQs. | ||

My newer Duet washer's boot leaks at the center base where it frayed.It was abused prior to my ownership but started after a few loads were washed. I had to replace it with a new one. My second Duet,an older one,is dry rotting.I looked at it earlier today and noticed it's torn in multiple areas.I leave it ajar to eliminate any mildew but never saw this happen.

I can't see how the boot got poked but all I can say, WHY ME? LOL BTW, parts for the fridge arrived, installed and what...... NO Water..... Why? Because of frozen water line! My hair dryer is on the job in Manhattan and I used a drop light with a 100 watt bulb right in the door area leaning 1/2 inch away from the plastic bezel and heard the ice break free and whoosh we got water flowing again! Now I wonder should I get a refund for a used water valve???
