A reason why in another place & time my washer would be a GE (w/ a matching dryer as well), though they get a might cocky w/ an unbalanced load...!

But, how does this system know what to dispense & when to and are there batteries in it for power?

Tell me more...

It's all powered by water!

The water from the filter flo water flume is redirected by a dirverter valve(?) which changes the angle the water flows out of the flume.   As such, it goes into different channels in the dispenser lid, thus flushing the appropriate compartment.

This thread should help, there are lots of photos!

OK, now I remember it all--the Dispensall thread!

Makes sense that it would work in conjunction w/ the washer's water inlet much like ordinary dispensers on conventional machines...

I swear, in some of those pics, you can almost see THROUGH that dirty lid; glad it's been restored to good, normal operation...!

And in this age of electronics & technical advancement, you'd think GE would make another try at this, don't you think?

Clarification........

Hi Dave,

No the dispensers do not work in conjunction w/ the washer's water inlet.   It's the recirculated water for the filter, during agitation, that flows through the dispensers to flush them out.

OK, now I understand; thank you very much for answering...

And I believe this sort of thing--like the legendary Filter Flo--deserves another try!
