I wish people would stop ripping out my dream kitchen(s).  Why can't they get one that is already messed up?

I'll bet the cabinets and counter tops are up for grabs to anyone who wants to dismantle them.

I'm not so sure about the floor.  When I first met Dave, his duplex had the exact same stuff, likely the original from 1956 when the place was built, and it was really funky.  No way to get it looking clean or to put a shine on it.  It's quite possible the floor in the ad has seen better days, but the photos just don't capture it.

Whenever I see one of these Hotpoint dishwashers I think of user 1952crestwood as this was one of her dream machines. Here is a picture of her's.

"Price depends on how many you buy"  Sounds like he's willing to split the set.

we must remember what is a dream kitchen to us maybe a nightmare to someone else. I have to keep reminding myself of that when people tear down beautiful 50s houses and replace them with ugly McBlobs as well....PAT COFFEY

RE: DREAM KITCHENS

I understand to each his own, but I concur,
that these are Dream kitchens. I strongly
doubt that the Kitchens of today, with the
composite Stainless/Plastic appliances, will
be as viable when they reach 50/60 years of
age.

I just don't understand what the appeal is
in buying something that is so far from
what you want, that it needs to be torn
apart and redone.

I'm in the process of looking for a house.
I've found some really nice all origninal
ones, and hope that I will land one of them.
I really Want that Style, and I Really
don't want to have to demo anything
contemporary. If it's not what I want,
I really want to stay away from it, if at
all possible.

However, for those "Dream" kitchens that
are dismantled, it is fortunate that there
are so many members here to save what would
be discarded. Thats how I got my 6 piece set
of 1963 Turquoise appliances (in storage waiting
to be installed in my new house).

Good Luck to Whomever Gets the Stainless Appliances.
They are Very Cool.

Louis
