I just replaced the transmission and bearing/seal kit in my Norgetag/ Maytag performa washer and that went smoothly but now after replacing it im having similar issues which seem to be a transmission problem. I just spent $300 to do this repair and now the transmission is making a clunking noise on the spin cycle AGAIN just like the last transmission, in fact its almost identical to the sound the last one made before it stopped spinning.
It does this at the first of the spin cycle before it gets up to full speed, its like a clunking noise that happens every few seconds, I have been using the slow spin for the start of every spin cycle since I heard the noise again and there is no clunking on the slow speed.
If there is anyone who is an expert on these washers please help me figure out where in the transmission the noise is coming from. I am almost positive it is from the transmission, is it even possible that this brand new transmission is somehow defective??!!!? Anyone who knows anything about these washers please help me get to the bottom of this, im so fed up with this washer and especially after sinking $300 in repairs into it just for it to do the same thing as before.
All I want is to be able to use the Normal cycle with normal/fast speeds on my washer...is that too much to ask? what a waste of time and money...
Have you checked or replaced the thrust bearing? That is the trans drive pulley with the bearing. They went from a thrust bearing with about 14 million little crappy parts to a system with about 3... Just an idea...
