My friend Chris in NY has found me a nice looking Whirlpool wringer washer. He picked it up yesterday for me and gave me the report last night. The underneath was very clean with no oil drips only dust which he vac'd away. The drain hose is toast so it will have to be replaced. The pump was seized also. When he removed the pump and took it apart the impeller just kinda "sploded" into 4 pieces. Now for my question to you all. Does anyone have any ideas how I can find a new impeller (which I am certain is not available)? Chris still has it but will mail it to me so I can look in this area after he looks there. Everything else works well and there are only two blemishes in the paint/porcelain. I am hoping I can find some kind of a two bladed impeller for this gal. If anyone has any suggestions please do give them to me. It has all of the original paperwork with it and was purchased in 1963 the sales slip shows. I forgot to get the serial/model number from Chris but will do so and then let you know. Again, any help will certainly be appreciated so very much. The color looks to be not white in the pic from CL but it is white. Chris got it for 50 bucks ! Best to all !!

Jim

So much like the Visimatic; in fact at one point I think they were called Surgomatics. The pump was the same forever, and should be available but maybe not easy to get. Ask John Combo.

Fun to look inside at what first looked like a Visi and see a Surgilator. Beautiful. See if you can get us a close-up of the control panel; that would be interesting.

What a grand and rare find.

Hi Mike,

Chris is going to take some pics today and send me. I will be going to my Mr. Maytag who also works on WP's and see if he can help me out. I am going to the Amish today for some Maytag parts and will have them keep and eye open. I know they don't have anything but MT parts. I did find that 3/4 cup of Ariel did the best job. I had suds I have not seen since I was a kid and Mom used a wringer. I was using the E and the suds were coming out from around the lid onto the apron LOL. Thanks again !

Jim

Cool find. I located one years ago, "top o the line" with gentle & regular washing & wringing speed control, detailed in turquoise vs black. You will enjoy using that fat open head wringer, feed it with folded over cloth and your fingers will never catch to the elbow! Enjoy & play safe.
