I was in Dubai last week in a hotel apartment and had one of these machines there. It reminds me a lot of an older 90s Indesit Omega machine. Elba appears to be a brand from Singapore.

This machine appears to be made by the Indesit Company. I prefer this over the lastest Indesits on the market today. It seems to be better made. This machine has a max spin of 800RPM. It uses both its mechanical timer and use of electronic controls. The machine sometimes had the timer on and other times it doesn't, so I assume it is then reliant on electronics after the timer has reached the desired section.

The machine features metal paddles which is a nice touch. The shell indent construction is the same as my older 90s Indesit and strange thing to notice, but the smell of the underside also reminds me of my 90s Indesit. It has slows tumbles on both wash and rinse cycles, again like my previous generation Indesit.

This machine has a fault with it. The door doesn't lock and it can be open at any time. Very dangerous.

This machine does 3 rinse cycles. Another reason why I prefer it over Indesit 2 rinse only machines.

Thanks for the exhaustive report

 Were you manhandling this poor machine--pulled out, turned over and shot from so many angles; were you an x-ray technician in an earlier life? I would have thought that the labels would have Arabic overlays. How was the machine at water extraction between the water changes? Did it sudslock in spin?

"Able was I ere I saw Elba" one of the longer palindromes in English. Thank you to the writers of Desk Set, one of my favorite movies. It has a beautiful office Christmas Tree done in fine 1950s style.

I actually know the OEM of this washing machine, it's a little known Italian brand called ITWASH, and they still make models with the timer control, as well as those with electronic controls, I've seen a YouTube vid of 1 recently and the timer sounds uncannily like 1 on a Hotpoint lol, and with them being simple, they don't seem 2 go wrong.

 Thanks for the info. I found out today about ITWASH. Never knew they existed. This machine reminds me so much of Indesit Omegas. Maybe ITWASH got their inspiration from those machines.

Firstly, so are these made by Indesit - or not.
Secondly is this machine quite new?

If this machine is new, then why don't Indesit use that drum in all the other models, looks far more solid, and would probably remove the exploding risk?

 No, this machine appears to be to be made by ITWASH in Italy. I think this machine is around 2 years old. I have taken a look at the ITWASH website and they still manufacture timer controlled machines incorporating electronic controls.
