My mother has a Maytag Gas Dryer model HDG308 for sale in beautiful harvest gold. This dryer still works great. It was used from 1972 (I believe) up until yesterday. The only reason she bought a new one is because the matching A206 washer gave out and she purchased a new matching set (note: the A206 was hauled away, so is not for sale).

As to be expected from a 40 year old appliance, it does have some scratches to the finish and some built up grime. The lint filter has been repaired with duct tape. Otherwise, it dries well. My brother replaced an inexpensive part (I'm not sure what) about ten years ago, but otherwise it has never needed servicing. Included are the original operating and installation booklets.

The asking price is $50 or best offer. The dryer needs to be picked up in the next two weeks. It is located 20 miles north of Milwaukee, just off I-43. It will be posted in the next few days on Craigslist, but I wanted to post it here first for people who will appreciate it.

BTW, my language on the original post was a bit clumsy whey I said "otherwise, it dries well." What I meant to say was that the cosmetic blemishes and repaired lint filter are all that is wrong with it. It is fully functional. I tested the new dryer, which retails for over $1000, and it took roughly the same amount of time as the Maytag.

Exactly the same model as my mom's old Maytag dryer, but hers was white & electric!

Badlands this dryer is not from 1972

Maytag did not offer the 08 series Stream of Heat dryer models until 1976. Center Dial Maytag's went out of production in 1980 and were replaced with the woodgrain control panel 10 series....PAT COFFEY
