There is nothing wrong with the machine, it runs well & so quiet. The problem was that the fuse holder was slack which caused the mains plug to overheat.

All that was needed was a good vacuuming out.

Hi there,
Very pleased you got what you wanted ! I have several variations of this machine but all mine are reversing models. In my opinion these are one of the best tumble dryers ever made
I believe your machine is dated January 1983
Hope this helps
John x

Your not wrong there John, what a great performing Dryer.

Put a full load of cottons in last night that were spun @ 1000rpm & they were dry in 40 minutes. I also like the fast tumble rotation speed which much be around 55rpm just slow enough from the laundry being pinned to the sides of the drum. Tangling doesn't seem to be a problem considering it's a non-reversing model.

Hoover Electron & Logic

Great Craig n yes over 30 years old and will prob last another 30 years !!!
Why manufacturers cant make a decent tumble dryer these days is beyond me !
There are very slight variations between the models The Electron reversing machines change direction every 37 seconds, the Logics every 40 seconds
As you can imagine nothing ever rolls into a ball it just dries perfectly !
I have a garage & double utility full of machines mainly all hoover with a few others thrown in lol oh not forgetting conservatory too !

Cheers Craig Enjoy

If they made machines that lasted 30 years now, what would they manufacture when everyone had got one? In the days that Hoover was made, most customers were probably buying their first dryer but now they are mainly looking at the replacement market plus people setting up their first home.

John,

Your Garage & Utility room sounds like my sort of place. I have really enjoyed using exactly the same Hoovermatic Deluxe you have as your profile pic many times in the past, sadly now long gone. Without a doubt it has to be the very best Twin Tub Washer Hoover ever produced.
