Will it ever end? I could just screech. How do you stand it? I could tear my hair out! (what little is left). Wash, wash, wash--there must be another way. I can't endure this any more.

There was a small load soaking overnight with my two favorite T's, one of which I wanted for later today. So I rinsed in hot, accidentally selecting medium instead of small. I'm not wasting this.

What to do with the nice hot, too much rinse water?

mickeyd's profile picture
The morning robe was dirty, How did I get mustard on there? Ring around the collar even. Sheesh!

Post# 700632 , Reply# 2   9/2/2013 at 13:25 (3,881 days old) by mickeyd (Hamburg NY)
It's matching robe wasn't really dirty.....

mickeyd's profile picture
So I threw in a beach towel and a stray sheet to make a nice medium load. Now....it's only going in for a soak and wash. Promise, I did no cheating or secret advantaging.

Will the stains come out? More later? And Oh the horrible clang of that damned suds bell! Must find a muffler before I go mad like that guy in "The Tell-tale heart."

So did you suffer doing wash today, and do you have time for a pic of the misery?

Here's a shot of the barrel shooting water around.

Or did you only do dishes instead? Or both?

mickeyd's profile picture
What ever works. Here's the usual Bob-load, four or five days of dishes--forget when I last did them-- in the Whirlpool Portable, with a few things already removed before I thought to snap a pic of this too.

Am I right in thinking that is your Servis Superglide?? Shame they didn't make a larger model that spin dried as opposed to the wringer but then with a round washtub perhaps the action wouldn't have been so vigorous!

I was going to make a video of my KitchenAid Superba washing our king size sheets plus king size duvet cover on the "Sweaters" cycle (slow/fast) showing the AMAZING rollover. I bought this washer brand new in July of 2006. I CANNOT live without this machine. One of these days I will video this load so people can see and believe the TRUE power of a KitchenAid!!!!

Well aware of "the TRUE power of a KitchenAid!!!! "

mickeyd's profile picture
You can almost wash an elephant in one. Well, a baby elephant, then. Why not just snap a pic of the machine and next time of the load when you do it. In my mind, I'm seeing white on white with cream to beige well-grooved knobs, but I can't remember exactly what the 06's look like and would appreciate a refresh.

Alas, I found out that this story has a sad ending.

mickeyd's profile picture
which will be apparent to any Frigidarian as soon as I take the pic and post it. But for now it's still a happy story, with a nice ironic twist.

The stains just about came out, but there was the faintest hush of the very palest yellow which the sun will easily remove.

As I was about to depart, I smiled ~

To see that I had left the SAVE button depressed, so now I had a batch of liquor that had first been hot rinse water, then wash water, now once used suds. Hmmmmm. What will I have to wash now. How about Uncle Dick's Kelly Green Robe.

Excuse me, I snarled to see leftover water, which meant another dreaded load and more of that horrible pounding in my brain of that hideous clang. (Poe) How will I survive. Good Lord, Save Me from the terrors of wash day. (Forgot the point-of-view). Chuckle.

Note that the cap has popped off and flown under water as the overflown liquors are returned from the cabinet. This is a clue to the sad ending.

UNBELIEVABLE

mickeyd's profile picture
I came home and saw the well-known calamity of a Frigidaire tub drained to the level of the water bellows. All Frigis know that water CAN NOT escape the tub except through the holes around the rim. Unless the bellows fails. First, I checked to see it the Maytag has sucked up the water. Nope. Well, this Frigi has had nothing in but water for weeks. No foreign objects to tear or pierce the rubber. Could the flung cap have wedged violently during pulsation and caused a tear?

Pumped the water back into the tub, went about my business, returned a while later and the water, again , had drained out. Christ, now I've got to find another bellows. Not easy. I'll contract Launderess to shop for me. She'll find one, I thought. Well worth the shopping fee. I took such good care of this bellows after an anonymous member gave it to me. Never overloading, no sharp objects, no stabbing at the rubber for fun. Nothing.

So I pumped the water back one last time, and Miracle of Miracles..... It held. Not convinced of this being possible, I varied the height of the pulsator, listened for leaks, went swimming, waited, went out for dinner. A few hours later: IT'S STILL HOLDING. Did the bellows wedge up and then regain its groove? What? Did a small rip seal? I have no idea what's going on here people. But look. No leaks.

I was all set to say: The things we do for love. Me, determined to create a Labor Day Thread about the Fake Horrors of Washing, and rushing throught it, doing too much, all cost me a bellows, a real horror, and LO, the hole was magically healed. No, I haven't had any Bourbon yet, and the crack pipe is still broken. So save it. LOL.
Must be true that once in a while, it is a charmed life, after all.

Must have gotten lucky... With the washer I mean.
My labor day washing, was doing a test with my Winger washer for another thread on the super forum.
How in the hell did that bathrobe get so dirty? Looks like you fell down in your dinner plate LOL

I have two of those robes. I wear one for a few days, then the other, then I wash both. I don one from a hook as soon as I get up, and put it back on on when I get out of the lake to make brunch. I must have been putting the same one on for too many days. I just thought it would be fun to confess in public that I'm a dirty little piggy too, sometimes.

Well at least you have all the best equipment to get it clean again.

Glad you didn't have to do a repair on the machine!
