Hello everyone, just wondering if anybody knows if this new style of the ge agitator perform well? Does anyone own a ge washer that has this type of agitator?

since its not a HydroWave machine, we'll go with thats its a regular short stroke agitation, not that it will do anything superior with a full load, I see you only washing a small amount for a full tub of water to get good result and turn over on something like this...I would probably just wash half loads, to keep the load near the bottom of the agitator

maybe this video will help you decide for yourself.....not the best agitation and rollover IMHO...

That machine tub & agitator looks quite BOL to me.

That was about the same kind of agitation we got out of our 1984 Maytag top loader.
It has to sit and work for about 5 minutes before any rollover started. I thought it was too boring so after 7 years or so we upgraded to a Whirlpool that we still have today.

That agitator will do very little

as far as turning over or effectively cleaning anything more than a medium load.  In the VERY short life of this machine you should do no more than a 3/4 full tub of clothes in a full tub of water.   ANY Whirlpool/Kenmore or Maytag would wash better and last much longer.

That's what I was thinking very little row over not much wash action. Never seen this type of agitator in action though.

GE

Not that I know much about US style toploaders but this washer really looks cheap in my eyes. The wash action is poor, too, as shown in Yogitune's video link...

It's not all THAT bad - lol.  A friend of mine bought a new Hotpoint branded washer with this agitator in 1995 when they first changed to the plastic basket design.  We replaced the knob on the washer a few years later and it never saw a wrench or trouble again until two years ago when it began to drip water from the center seal and he replaced it with a WP/Maytag top-loader.  For a two person household, a little more than 14 years trouble-free service out of a washer is nothing to scoff at. I know he was not under-loading that washer by any measure and was always happy with the results.  The rollover was slower than other brands, but that's not necessarily indicative of poor washing, just less entertaining to watch.

I bought one of these agitators when I got one of the first agitator Hydrowave machines. It came with a dual action agitator which barely worked on the first load. Once I got that BOL agitator in the machine though, it was a lot of fun! It had excellent turnover and increased the capacity a bit compared to the DA counterpart. Of course, the Hydrowave machines have the 360 degree stroke so that helped a lot too with turnover. Tongue out

Rollover doesn't have to manic/fast/furious to get effective cleaning results. The items will have sufficient exposure to the 'drubbing' area at bottom of the basket if there is enough rollover to turn the load several times through the wash period.

Was this machine the "infamous" "plastic" GE washers?

I'm afraid I don't have a video. That was before my first cellphone with video recording capabilities! The machine now resides with a friend who was in dire need of a washer just after getting married.

my GE washer.

I have a GE washer with a dual-action gentle power agitator. It does every load I throw at it.
