I have one more question for the night.

So like I said in my previous thread, I got this washer from my normal appliance person. The guy is retired, but I am seeing now his thing is not necessarily fixing these things right as much as it is a retirement hobby to keep busy.

So far I have had to send 2 other Whirlpool/Kenmores back to the guy because of timers, I thought that this third one is the charm. So it seemed..

The machine works fine without clothes, has a powerful quiet wash, and the spin is one of the faster ones I have seen on a top loader. However, when I ran a load, found out the sucker will not spin with clothes in it. I researched the problem, and saw that many say it is the clutch. So I took loose the assembly from under the bottom, tested the clutch by trying move the bearing ring like I saw on YouTube, and it did not budge, so from what I was gathering, the clutch is fine (I assume). Whew!!!! So I thought...

In the process of writing the other post, I was doing a load, and the same thing happened again, it was not spinning. When I stopped the machine, kind of tried to push the tub, it kicked and started spinning. I also notice that sometimes the agitator is dead locked during the spin, and IIRC they spin with the tub. Now I am thinking it is the transmission (hope not, don't feel like spending money).

I could just tell the guy to give me my money back (paid like $125 for model LSQ9560PW0), but I would like to have a DD machine for the simple reason any Joe Blow (like myself) can fix them. In his defense, I know he is not trying to screw me over because the other two times I have called him, he didn't change words, but I am thinking he doesn't fully know how to repair these things, just how to patch them up to give him something to do. I have even thought of going new, but I am not reading good things about the new Whirlpools. Do you all know of any other fixes to get this thing to spin all of the time, without my assistance? Should I just get my cash back?

He sold you 2 inoperative machines and you bought a third?

I bought a VW bus from a guy who said he rebuilt engine and trans. Engine worked fine. Trans locked up in 2 gears at the same time. I gave it to a guy for the cost of towing it away. He later told me yes the trans was rebuilt, but wrong. IOW, the guy didn't know/care what he was doing. You may be looking at a similar scenario.

Sometimes it takes others to show you mistakes. The beauty of this is that I have a warranty and still have time to get my money back.

I would get my money back....and just go with another machine...since you have that option......otherwise, you may be looking at another tranny....

unless he has another tranny that he has not touched or opened, and you can install that yourself....

i know you like direct drive washers but sometime you might have to consider another way to have a direct drive washer like look on your local craiglist in your area or maybe consider another brand like speed queen like if you went a kenmore i direct drive washer there is this washer dryer set on the canadien craiglist but the cost of shiping might be to high unless your willing to pay for shiping from canada to the us here is a picture and a link. But as far as i know if you went a good wsher you should maybe consider going with a speedqueen washer dryer
