Hi all.

I recently got an asko t760 tumble dryer but there seems to be some trouble?

The machine turns on the screen lights up and you can select a cycle but the dry does not turn, all you can hear is a hum. Sometimes when you open the door then shut it and press start the drum will start turning and the cycle will finish?? But my times just it will hum and will over heat and switch off?

Thanks
All

The hum the sound of the motor turning, which are quiet on these machines, sounds like the drum belt has snapped / broken, if its vented take off the bottom front panel and you should see if the drum is turning...

Is the drum motor on a starting capacitor?
If yes it might have blown and the motor has difficulties starting to turn

It's not the belt I checked that will check the capacitors!

Not the belt!

I have taken the dryer completely apart (so dusty) and I am pretty sure it s the capacitor on the motor, as if I turn the drum by hand when humming sometimes you would get movement, will be going tomorrow to asko for a new capacitor ( which model/one do. Ask for?

Thanks all

Simply take the old one with you and ask for one which has the same uF (microfarad) and V (voltage) rating.

If it is overheating EVERYBODY how said it could be the belt was ablsolutley wrong. These Asko's are pretty close to the EU standard and on every EU home dryer the Motor is directly connected to the fan EXCEPT the heatpump Mieles with there 2 Motors. So if the belt would have failed, the drum would stay straight while the fan turns...
