Hi all, a few years ago i mentioned that my Zanussi FLA1002W took in fabric conditioner early, i was told it could be a faulty inlet but after investigation ive worked out its not possible, the inlet only has one feed as its cold so does not have a separate one direct to the softener compartment, ive noticed my Tricity Bendix AW1053W started to do the same thing recently. water only trickles into the compartment while filling through the proper compartment also but still manages to fill the chamber up and dispense the softener by the end of the 1st rinse fill. i just cant work out why! anyone got any ideas? if it is the inlet at fault however its a £20+ job which i want to avoid, as im hoping to sell the Zanussi in a few weeks time.
Phil

Mechanical link?

Is the cold water diverted to different compartments by a mechanical link to the timer? This was a very common arrangement on a number of machines. A rod connects to the timer dial that, when turned, moves the rod back and forth, thereby switching the cold feed from one section of the dispenser to another.

You may just need to adjust the rod if it does have this type of mechanism.

Yes indeed, the FLA1002W does have the mechanical link. See the link below for a parts diagram.

had a crack at sorting the problem and it seemed to work, there was an adjustable arrow thing which was set at a triangle with -1, -2, -3 on the left and +1,+2, +3 on the right so i set it at -1 and all seems well, cant believe it was that simple! wish id had a look a long time ago!
thanks all!
