My brother called me last night and asked me what it meant when their front load washer stopped and flashed "FO2" in the little screen. He said someone had washed some rugs in it right before that and it must have done something to make it malfunction. Anyone know what that message would mean?

When does the error appear? Right from the start or at the first drain?
Sounds like a blocked or broken pump. Let him check if the pump still makes noises. If yes, he will need to remove the lower front panel (if it is splitten) and clean the pump filter...

F/02 is long drain.  As noted above, check the pump trap for debris from the rugs (and whatever else likely will be found in there).

Thank you folks, it was indeed the pump trap plugged up.
